Sería increíble que pusieran la traducción al español, muchos queremos aprender a usar la cuerda así. Super tus clases, explicas muy bien. Doblar al español por favor!

I most likely will, but I don't have a timeline on it yet haha. Is there anything specific you would want in the app?

Do you have a tutorial for a “same side” mic? Moving from a regular mic to a backward mic was easy. Transitioning from a regular mic to a “same side” mic is like backhand and forehand in tennis. Thanks!
@CoachNateKG2 жыл бұрын
Hahah that’s very true! As someone who played a lot tennis when I was younger, that’s actually a very spot-on comparison. I don’t have a same side mic tutorial yet, but one tip I can offer here is to think of doing a back hand stroke with your rope, but aiming it UP into the air. The point being that your wrist should open up and flex back as you keep the rope moving upwards (similar to a backhand) You may also want to try backwards regular mic if you haven’t already. It’s the same exact turning motion, but in a different arm placement 😁👌

Hi Nat , Do you think I can learn this one ?
@CoachNateKG2 жыл бұрын
Yes for sure! You'll probably want to use a Short Handle Beaded Rope to make it easier. It's a little tricky to get the timing at first, but you technically don't need to jump, so you could try it over and over all day if you wanted 😂

Curious about where the name mic came from. I always thought it was short for microphone. But it’s not pronounced such.
@CoachNateKG2 жыл бұрын
It’s actually pretty cool - back in the day (meaning ~20+ years ago), a jumper by the name of Mike Fry was working on this skill with several other jumpers. They all did a vertical release, but in a couple different ways. Mike was credited as the person who came up with this skill, and he wanted to name it similar to his name but not exactly his name. He went with “Mick” but took off the “k” - of course the irony is that most people pronounce it “Mike” when they first see it spelled out haha. I did actually talk with Mike on my podcast and asked him about when he created this skill, so if you want the link i can def share it here 😁👍

Do i need a short rope to unclock this skill? My handles always hit the floor when i did my transition. :"(
@CoachNateKG3 жыл бұрын
Shorter ropes will definitely move easier during this skill, so you may want to adjust your rope as you're learning. But long term, you can technically do this skill with longer ropes, so it just depends on your jumping style and what skills you prefer to do 😁😁

Curious...keep the feet moving throughout the mamba? I’ve see a lot of really good jumpers plant their feet when doing releases. Also, when to start practicing this...suppose u r doing two revolution mics successfully 9 out of 10 times (while continuously jumping) with a beaded rope...maybe 50/50 with a lighter pvc rope...and your three revolution mic is really just a work in progress. Stay where u r until more consistent? proceed to the mamba? Thx!
@CoachNateKG4 жыл бұрын
That's more of a style preference. When you're learning, it's easier to keep feet planted because you can focus more on the rope. But once you have it consistently, you can add some foot movement and do whatever really fits your style! As for progressing to three total revolutions, I would recommend practicing both the two revolutions version to get it more efficient, but also to try the three revolutions version just to try it out and get a feel for it!
