In episode 5 of this blind gameplay of Civilization 6, I expand my empire, attempt my first foray into espionage, locate another continent and learn something I might be kicking myself over going forward.

Hi Leysa. Another great episode. If you chance you "Charismatic Leader" card with "Merchant Confederation" card under diplomatic policy, you would make hell out of money per turn considering you have like more than 30 envoys in city states. There is a mod (Extended Policy Card) allowing you to see what exactly you get from each policy card. 1:13:50 You need to build the military buildings to build more spies. And also certain types of policies and techs give you more spies slots. 1:15:00 Houing is about population. For expansion you need to improve the culture you produce in the city. 1:24:02 This lumber mills was unneccesary since you can make you citizen to work only 3 tiles out of your city center (that tile was 4 tilew away from your city center). Your city border can grow out of 3 tiles from your city center but you cannot place any citizens there so no need to improve them unless there is a luxury or strategic source there. The reason to improve luxury and strategic sources even though they are away from 3 tiles is you can have them like they would provide that strategic source to your inventory or luxury source provides amenity. but again you cannot place your citizens to these tiles. 1:25:20 harvesting anything you place doesnt provide any yield. You placed wonder on your farm so not harvesting it was ok. However, if you are going harvest something that the game put there rainforest, forest, or bonus resources, gives you productions, food or both. 1:26:38 she suggests theatre square since your culture is a bit low :) so your advisor is trying to lead you to generate more culture. btw, when you open science or civic tree, you can see how your opponent is doing by simply locating its small picture around scrool bar down there. 1:29:38 You had 5 envoys there but Trajan placed 7 envoys Vilnius so they are his team now. on the right side you can see how many envoys Trajan put there (7). Now if Trajan declare war on you, Vilnius also will fight with them against you... You would want your builders improve city states tiles since when you get city states suzerainity, you can also utilize their strategic and luxury sources. so if they do not improve it, you can improve it and benefit it. 1:33:39 Your envoys do not shuffle themselves (They would increase automatically by completing their quest, sometime you would complete them without noticing like you produce something and producing that thing was city state`s quest). you had 5 envoys there, and Trajan stole the Vilnuis by putting more envoys. In some part, you asked why would you want more than 6 envoys in a city state, this is the reason. You would put more envoys in a city state to secure its suzerainity. 1:37:45 You do not need to garnison units in your city center. I know in Civ II, if your city is not protected by garnisons, the enemies could capture it but in Civ IV, cities have health so they (and you) need to put a fight with cities if they (and you) want to capture it. however, having garnison in cities make stronger. (oh I wish you discovered this yourselves. Your reaction would be sooo cute :)) 1:40:40 looool. I laughed so hard here. Road does not work to much at this stage. go for railroads. Making roads requires build charge for military engineer which they have only 2 while making railroads is free. Check it tho, I am playing with dlcs so it could be different. 1:43:00 you need to repair your pillage features with your builders. 1:46:30 there is a search button above the map (4th button from the left) Using that search function you can search anything on the map like luxury or strategic sources or any other thing you can imagine like world wonders. You niter could be under the districts you build. In this case, you would have it but cannot see in the map (it probably is under your industy zone in baltimore). normally you would want to sell your extra luxury sources to the other players. But considering the only player Trajan hates you, he would not want to buy anything from you. Try it tho. Just try to make some deal with him. Thank you for the video. love your voice.

heres some tips randomly throwed from a premier league player :P please activate the tile yield view on top of minimap, 1st thing any new civ 6 player learns, and if I end up watching more I wont be able to help as much without it. You CAN have inland city and harbor on ocean tile to pump boats. I dont like it since the city center gives adjancency bonus to harbor, which gives bonus gold and can be later converted in production. Everypoint counts and snowballs, thats true for everything in this game. Civ 6 is well known for its humongous snowbally aspect amongst the franchise. Also, use the option on top of your minimap for settler view to know where is freshwater. For your settled cities basically 5 housing is freshwater, 3 is water, 2 is I need a beer. - when settling without fresh water, always try to make sure theres a mountain, lake, or river 1 tile away, so u can place an aqueduct to make the city freshwatered, very important. Exception for coastal cities that can create housing in harbor and make it also freshwateredlike. Most tile improvement also help with housing over time but arent enough if the city isnt freshwatered at some point. I would advise to steer away from religion and even go as far as removing the win condition in your 1st few games, you have a lot of mechanics to learn already for a while. I still do, i dont like the multiplayer religion early minigame for great prohets, some do like it. Great ppl is focus em all, they will later help you capitalize on your leader' perks to make you win the game. Culture theyre all the same, so u wanna get as much as you can unless culture is totally out of you gameplan....which rarely happens. Science, engeneering, market, generals, theres good and bad ones, . So for exmpl when the next great scientist is a good one (e,g. 3 tech boosts) dont be scare to project campus research (found at the bottom of the production list of your city) in cities. Great prophet is to found a religion and every game has # of religion capped, so they only appear at the beginning of the game you can expand city spread to 4 tiles and more but can work only 3 tiles away. try to follow your viewers advice an go get the mods, extended policy cards, detailed map tacks, etc. Policy cards are everything(basically what differentiates every civ in their development), when researching new cultures, make sure thats what you read 1st to make sure it aligns with leader/gameplan, you can learn the wonder/building game after. when settling multiple cities, try to settle them at 4 or 5 tiles away. However, land quality (as for the earlier tip on tile yields) can often break that rule - 4 when you wanna maximize district adjacency quick - 5 when you wanna still maximize adjacency but takes longer, is used mostly because the 3rd layer of tiles of the 1st city will have 1 tile stolen by the 2nd city when settled 4 tiles away. city couplets or trios works best to maximize adjacency on the long run, also with prod district that gives 6 tile spread bonus later on...supra broken. At some point it seemed that the great engineer you recruited had limited options and you couldnt end turn without doing smthn, that was because you already had a great ppl on the citys tile, you cant have 2 civilians of the same type on the same tile, e.g. military-military, or even greatppl-builder(wait, I think haha), but for sure no greatppl-greatppl, just move it to another city, or tile like you did, you will see that often esp with military. the alert thing is barbarians, you have to kill to get tech boost, most of the time you have to micro your units to make sure you get no deaths. Dont get me wrong they are hard, dont fight without the policy card. You have to kill the camp, you get notif for it on the right. If you dont kill the camp, esp at harder difficulties, they spawn units at a terrible rate, can mess up your entire game easily. finally, learn adjacency rules asap, adjacency is winning. try a japan game, will help you with that. on single player, try to remember how leaders you encouter act, they always follow their agendas. Most of them have 2 or 3. So they will act pretty much the same every game. Or you can check google, but.... :P hope you enjoy the journey!

I would recommend settling many more cities so the romans do not colonize the continent. More cities are good.

Hi, Leysa! I hope you're well! I have nothing useful, funny or stupid to say today so here's a comment for the algorithm 😃 *EDIT* my screen is so small that I can't actually read any of the text in the game so I can't help you when it comes to finding the Nider mine (apologies if I've butchered the spelling of Nider, I've never heard that word before and have no idea what Nider is) 😅
