Best races… 1 drive faster than them in a custom car
@LucianDevineАй бұрын
@@bastien4530 Except that Brian didn't just drive faster here. He held back at the beginning, making a race out of it, literally asking out loud, "What you got?". Yes, he could have just slammed on the gas, but nobody wants to see that. They want to see a show. So Brian gave them a show, and held back until even after he outdrove the guy on the last turn. He only really showed what his car could do after the first shot of NOS.
@coom69324 күн бұрын
@@LucianDevinei think you are underestimating the 2jz power lol
@LucianDevine4 күн бұрын
@@coom6932 No, I'm just using context clues from later in the race. If he was able to catch up to a guy after a shot of NOS, even after initially falling behind because of it, it means that he could easily have passed the guy earlier, like at 0:49, prolly beat him to the turn because of 1:04, and certainly passed him at 1:31. Brian clearly isn't concerned in that moment. I could go on, but I think I've made my point. Brian wanted to give everyone a show, just like Tej. There's a reason Suki was more than happy to compete with the other 2, but a little disappointed to see Brian pull up.

@grege3996 you forgot Tokyo Drift? Also, every movie has at least two races, one at the beginning to set the scene (like this race) and another one in the middle when they need to get something from somewhere. The other races just do not use this type of cheap super modden cars with body kits, vinyls and weird colors anymore, we see more muscle cars etc instead. But saying there are barly any races in the series after this is just plain wrong.

Oh, if only neon was still available. I still have some 12-18" tubes from back in the day Street Glow was licensed with the F&F series. A diecast car came with each one. The neon was (personally) a better aesthetic and quite the product for its time, from the 50s to early 2000s. Sure they're delicate, not as bright, and ambient temperature sensitive compared to LED strips... but still a better image. LED strips can be really tasteful or tacky depending on location and car. A lot of muscle car (modern and classic) guys in my area have them wired up (underbody and in engine bay) and it looks very wrong in most cases. My '99 Eclipse has some slim line purple tubes but rarely do I switch them on, but nice to have on when driving down dark-dark roads. They're both products of the era.
