Jun 2021 -- An Interview with Tim Ingold

This seminar will be about the rich work of anthropologist and lineologist Tim Ingold.
Rather than a typical presentation the session will be conducted as an interview by Juan Loaiza, exploring a number of themes in Ingold's wide ranging work. The focus will be substantially on topics explored in Ingold's recent books (including lines, the concept of the "meshwork", correspondence, and more), but also look at his introduction of Gibsonian ecological notions into anthropology, and the development of his views on Gibson's work over time. We will also discuss Ingold's notions of method, and the idea of anthropology as "philosophy with the people in".
The interview will be followed by a Q&A in line with our typical seminars.
