Just seeing this. I live in TN. My children live there. I go to visit often. Nice video but you missed a lot. Had you turned right on Ash it would’ve taken you to some of the most scenic views. Then there there’s the new high tech high school which is huge, the lake, beautiful parks, the Buffalo Soldier Memorial, and more. You have to go back. It’ll be worth it.

I was stationed in Ft Riley 30 years ago. I should have moved to JC when I got out. It's a nice city!

That hotel in view at the start of the video is where I spent my first night in Junction City. When i got out of basic training and got stationed at Ft. Riley my wife still had anout a month or two of teaching left in the school year. At the end of the school year she drove to JC with my baby son, my sister and her husband, and that was the hotel we found when they arrived. June of 1996.

Mike you gotta come back to Junction City, you missed the high school, it's one of the biggest in the country, it's off Munson Road at 1100 Blue Jay Way.

You need to drive about 80 miles north and check out the towns of Washington, Morrowville, Haddam, Cuba, and Belleville. Don’t sneeze, you’ll miss them.
@MileageMikeTravels Жыл бұрын
Lol you’re right about that. I’ll have to try and check that area the next time I come through Kansas.

JC has a reputation for high crime, but my experience is that is pretty much a myth now based on old information. Following the news of both, it seems Manhattan has a Much higher crime rate now.
@matthewbrown8679 Жыл бұрын
It's been quite a while (moved from JC in 1999, left Manhattan in 2007), but I generally felt safer in Manhattan.
