Deuteronomy 9; Judges 3:12-30
The story of Ehud, the man without use of his right hand, is one of surprises. While everyone seems to focus on his handicap, Ehud is able to gain access to a powerful king, assassinate him, and save his people. The right hand of Goid and the left hand of Ehud work together in a divine/human partnership, which is part of the deuteronomic ideal. Does God still use unlikely people? Do our abilities or disabilities matter to God? To others in the church? How does God scuttle our expectations?
