I am African American and remember the first time I went to Soweto to see the Sundowns and the Pirates play!!!! I learn about Hector Peterson for the first time. I had never even heard of him before that. I also used your video 80Afrikan!!!! The kids had a million questions!!! I showed them the Drakensburg, the Valley of a Thousand Hills, Cape Town, the townships, Joburg etc.. they all want to visit now because in the states the tv shows none of this!!!! RESPECT!!!

I visited Cape Town in 2003 for the Red Bull Music Academy. Every morning I woke to my alarm clock radio playing this song on a public radio station. Such an incredible song and a very appropriate tour guide for my travels to SA.

If only the born free generation could have transparency and a deep sincere meaning of what " POWER" means to us. They will not be abusing substances and living life without a vision. Hosea 4 v 6 My people are destroyed for lack of knowledge. Because you have rejected knowledge, I also will reject you from being My priest. Since you have forgotten the law of your God, I also will forget your children. With a heavy and excruciating heart : To all the families that lost their loved ones who died for a course , may God's undying mercy rest upon you as we commemorate. AMANDLA! HA WETHU.

Ernest Mathebula be one who passes that understanding down kids are hungry for real raw truth but often elders are intimidated by the youth they don't understand the clothes the slang the world the kids live in and therefore are afraid to ask and afraid to share with them, elders thus end up failing to give knowledge and fail the next-generation which is doomed to fail it's offspring

This video serves as a reminder that the people of South Africa will only suffer to a point...after that point its time to stand up and be counted, I love my country & all its people, I respect our vast differences, its important to learn from the past...not to live in it!!...peace to ALL brothers in SA...22 April, make your mark...I never realized how important a vote is...till I wasnt allowed to make my own...for all the negativity about S.A.....at least we have a vote...make it count.

South African Historians have not yet figure-out how best to capture our history from generation to another. Today's generation interpret June 16 Soweto Uprising very lightly this is due to lack of knowledge is to what exactly was facing those young heroes but that lies to our historian to clearly capture this history and table it with modern style so that it remain fresh and relevant to our society.

when Mandela was released many spoke of war motivated by pay-back but what many did not understand was that each african country deals with issues individually, many african countries chose to expel their former colonizers after independent therefore, we were expected to follow that, yet the world did not understand that in RSA, we view things from our own mirror, we introduce our own laws that kept society together while making sure that those that were marginalized have advantages: BEE & AA.

It was 76 The street blew in urbany mist I'm treading it swift And running past where Hector got hit Bullets rang Several kids ran Better not flinch I catch a glimpse Of this bastard running past us with a gas mask Chucking teargas cans, that hit you like anthrax I, carry a brick load of black wrath in my stance Hit him with a slab he drops, his rifle and flashlight Walk towards him he's bleeding My face, hardens grab his gun As a crowd of overlooking youngs, take it from him The place is humming This mother- is gonna pay for something For chasing and gunning and making martyrs of the young'uns We stare for a while with murder in our eyes If he's never seen it before Then he heard in our cries I, drift to a time, when we was in a line My only dad was a prison visitor bird Caged in its prime pain Ancient in its time like cells Aimed to just find my soul Waiting to find mercy Wait but am I worthy Hate can divide earthly Based on divine verbs we Chased to define words we Supposed to be Cause the last days are close to we Eyes wide close to see Pass the smoke scenery I drift back to see him bleed Cock the rifle shot him To silence his misery Crowd dispersed After the gun, powder burst Life escapes him I'm well allowed But I still Got it worst 76 was not a very good year We were so caught up, with fear But I still got it worst I still got it worst Got it worst
