JUNE 17th. Why I Love BLEACH - Video Essay

My first video for this channel. A bit nerve-wracking but I had to express what Tite Kubo's Bleach means to mean as I have just recently stared reading through it and watching the anime. I never expected the story to become so personal to me but here we are.

I watched and read all of bleach before my mother past away, but now that she's gone reading this part of the story feels completely different. It hits even harder when Ichigo talks about how Masaki was the center of their universe, I never realized how true that same scenario was for my family until she was gone. this was a really great video and I'm glad that it was recommended to me. I would love to hear your thoughts on the rest of the series.

i love the character of masaki, shes just the perfect caring picture of a mother, after you see whats going on in tybw youll know even more how painful it musthave been for ishin who not only needed to accept the truth but he also took responsibility and raised their children alone, i feel like a lot of ppl can relate to ichigo because a mother is the most important and the kindest person to most of us so seeing her die can be much worse than dying yourself respect to you, for sharing about your mom

Very good video. Bleach is my favourite animanga for like 7 years for a similar reason, my dad died when i was young and seeing ichigo's character helped me out to keep going and like you said be able to make proud the people that we lost. Thanks for sharing this! I really like hearing someone’s perspective reading through bleach currently for the first time but also as an adult. I read all of bleach as it was coming out after I discovered it in like 2009, I was in middle school. It was always my fave manga because it focused on the afterlife which was something that plagued my mind growing up in the church. I was so interested in seeing a possibility that was different from what I was being taught and was so intrigued by the world Kubo built. Now looking back I realize why some aspects of the series spoke so heavily to me.

I love this video bro, please keep making them. This is honestly the perfect time to get into this show because now the final arc has started to be animated, so once you finish reading the manga if you want to watch the anime, you can actually watch the whole thing, which gives so much context into these themes being discussed. And no, you are not biased and only conflating an alright story because you relate to some of it. Bleach is such a philosophical masterpiece, and most people don't even get all the themes behind the "normal" story. Watch a person on KZbin called Radman. He's also someone who does reactions to the manga of Bleach, and he really gives a detailed telling of EVERYTHING with Ichigo and Bleach. It's really good and you'll get alot from it. Loss and how to deal with it is a very prevalent part of this story. There's nothing wrong with relating to it.

All the people who says it dies off after soul society are the same old trolls. Every new reaction channel I've seen they've been loving bleach even fullbringer arc. I'm a bleach fan for years and seeing people enjoying bleach puts a smile on my face because they are not listening to the haters. Everyone has their likes and dislikes people shouldn't dictate the opinion of others let them watch and let them come to their own conclusion. It's like they want them to hate bleach for no reason other than that they didn't either liked it themselves or never watched it but wants to crap on it.

I love the video man. Bleach was my first anime (knowing what anime was). And it's always stuck. It's different. Growing up it was just cool. Now that I'm older and have matured, gone through the motions of life, you know, the "normal"... My dad passed away last year, rewatching Bleach, getting ready for the thousand year blood war arc... it's been hard, it hits different; More home, more real. If anything, this series shows you that you need to cherish the ones you love and enjoy the moments, after all, moments can change just as fast as they appeared, it's real. That's why I like Bleach, it's more real than the others in the sense of a whole. More relatedable, guy wants to protect friends, not hokage etc.... Keep putting out videos bro. Many complain that Ichigo is not a good protagonist Shonen because he does not have a goal or objective that defines his travel in the plot (as Luffy wanting to be the Pirate King or Naruto being Hokage), but Ichigo he has a definition of his history and his reason for being: protecting their loved ones not to lose them as it was in the case of their mother and for me it is a very real reason and enough

I never had to deal with someone passing away just yet, only 2 dogs ive had that passed away so I do know that feeling on a degree, however watching this, made me a bit teary eyed, hearing the both stories and able to understand how hard that must be to lose someone very important. For me in particular, was not this chapter in ichigo's life, but as you mentioned in the video struck a my core. Mainly because I've faced the same thing as you and everytime I watch this episode in the anime or read it in the manga or even hear about it through a video brings tears to my eyes. Condolence and all that. I lost of my father, and although my story is VERY different, likewise this was the story that hit hardest for me, well, that and... well, when you get to it you'll know, you'll see it. It's towards the end. Don't worry about it now. Just enjoy the ride. September 24th for mine. Yeah, even 23 years later. Some years have been easier, some harder, some weird, but yeah. As for more of you and Bleach - Certainly, it's always good to hear a fresh take on it. And if you can get up to the final arc when the Anime comes back (10/8) Boy you are in for a treat. i discovered Bleach about 2 months after my uncle, my favorite person, died. the manga ended about a month before my mother died. Bleach helped me grieve and move forward. Ichigo was a person i could relate to at that time, and bleach is still my comfort show when everything else falls apart.

This video is a year ago and you’ve probably advanced much further into the story by now. Even so, I just want to say that this was an incredible first video with lots of thought put into it. For me, the death of Masaki laid the foundation of Ichigo’s character. His attitude, his choices, his actions - all of it can be traced back to this one moment. Without this point in life, Ichigo would not be the character we follow in this story, and I think that’s what makes Bleach as a whole so beautiful.

And maybe you are putting your personal experience into play to give a character more emphasis than is given but I think a good character is one where we can fit into their shoes and relate or reject as well.
