This year's playoffs was the best by far. So many amazing storylines, moments. Non-stop intensity and tremendous excitement. And a Stanley Cup Final that would go down as an incredible 7-game series. There's absolutely nothing like the Stanley Cup Playoffs.

I did enjoy this heavily but we know Bob for a few famous calls and at the end of the day, there were 3 that I either missed, or they did not include. If it was during the opening, I understand. This is not about us. This series was not about the Montreal Canadiens but when the series ended, a truth remained. Montreal is still the last Canadian team to Win the Cup. I was 16 for that run and know most of it by heart ;) Why were the famous, 'Desjardins' & '...and now a 24th Stanley Cup banner....' quotes, never used, by HNIC I am always keeping a mental tally, when Watching Hockey night in Toronto. As for Bob Cole that is and will always be, his last Canadian, Cup winning call and although the Oilers deserve as much praise, as you can heap on a team that was 1 goal away. They lost and just like McDavid, not accepting the CONN SMYTHE TROPHY, most of the Edmonton fan's had gone to sleep, or thrown their 1930 era radios on the ground (nice jinx BOSTON Pizza!!! lol). I know the founder was Canadian and loved hockey but I have never been to a a B.P. and thanks to that ridiculous commercial, never will. It was an insult to Bob Cole, as they only used Chris Cuthbert, (my 2nd favorite of all time) redubbing over calls that he never made. If you were from the West island, in 93. You watched that magical run, with Chris Cuthbert, commentating the first 3 rounds. With Bob doing the Leafs side and the final, natch. 'Dipetro all the way! He solidified himself that year and instantly became (what I hoped) would be the next in line!) and 30 years later, I was justified. I cheered the Panthers throughout. I did live there and still have family in the state. I adopted them at the begining of last year's playoffs and remember which 'Cage aux sports' I was in, when Uwe Krupp scored, giving the Nordiques and Patrick Roy the Cup. I remember the Rats that year, as it was crazy and Patrick was smart enough, to hide in his net!! lol I had picked the Panthers, to win it all from the start of the year...after Montreal of course ;) lol So I was almost more relieved than happy last night but for my friends and family, to the players that gave it all!! Congrats Thanks for an exciting Playoff. It was a fun ride and the right team won the Cup! Even if the wrong man (who lost a lot of his poise and respect that night) won the MVP, It belongs to Bobrovsky and Bob was Robbed!! Anyone that has ever played in that net and faced insane shots, (without a mask at one point) either knows Bob Won, or are lying to themselves. Just like going up to Bat, in Baseball. It's 90% mental. So to be an older goalie and coming very close , last year. The amount of testicular fortitude required, just to get back to the finals, should have given him the Trophy. Instead, he kept doing it. A shutout in game 1 and at least two more wins, that he stole! Now you need one more. FLA started to beleive, they were on their way and that much better. It almost cost them everything. Edmonton was doing what Montreal tried in 2020 but if Price had showed the same mental toughness, (as Bob), which we all know he has, things would have been different but that's not the main subject. Bob loses 3 in a row and they got blowed up, in one and Bob lost his fire for 3 games and for 99.9% of us, it would have been the reverse sweep. How do you reverse the last 3 mises? But he found a way, to get through the millions of naysayers in his head! Voices that said, we're going to screw this up and I will be known as 'Bob who Blows it!!' So yeah, besides his viewable performance. He also fought the mental demons and that is my claim, as to why, in my mind, that trophy is his. It's like they did the voting, only 5 minutes after game 6 ended. So if someone else was crazy enough to read all this...regardless of if you agree. You are my new hockey brother! ;) Cheers to all the fans and the players, who would still by playing today, if they had to. Just more proof that it's the toughest to win! Amazingly memorable!
