The Holy Grail of Screwston FREESTYLE!
With permission of Mr. Jean 27th, Big Demo, himself I was blessed with his grace to remaster the flow from its original Screwed Up speed and restore it’s original pitch in order to present what it would’ve sounded like in screws headphones during the moment of recording this legendary piece of history.
I do understand that this might almost feel sacrilegious to some people because of what DJ Screw‘s legacy means and I’m sorry if you feel like this is somehow disrespectful to the king because he ‘might not’ of wanted these flows to be heard in this way but from what I have learned about king screw is he just love the music. I feel like as long as people are jamming to this than he is Bobbing his head to the beat too

Well I had to use cool edit Pro 2.0 so what I did was I got the original Kris Kross song in order to literally lineup the instrumental beats until they were in unison and that’s how I knew I had the right speed

OK, now I understand lol I can’t stand the comments to try and tell me that I didn’t get the tempo right whenever I literally use the full proof method in order to guarantee every beat for the first five minutes was exactly on point with the original instrumental and song. I’m pretty sure that his tapes were still music but the point of this was to let people hear the way it was recorded that day as well as anyone who wants to con it at the speed because it’s a whole different vibe, big Mo sounds like he’s in a church choir for fuck sake And he only chopped certain songs, his mixed style was way different than Mike Watts in the beginning. He also recorded on two turntables and a tape deck, which picked up the entire background of whatever was happening at his house on a subliminal level so listening to a screw, especially on certain drugs, literally gives you the vibe of being in there And I understand if you don’t like it but I think it sounds good this way because it’s something different. It set a good song for maybe riding out of town for vacation, sipping bruise or something while. Of course the screwed up version will always sound better while smoking sherm and sipping. He never did chop the freestyles, though, that just wasn’t there and it wouldn’t of made as much sense, because of the fact that people would already the regular versions of songs he screw and chop But you can’t convince me that if he made a CD with this on it after running it through studio filters that it wouldn’t have sold. But I was just curious because I’ve had this up for years and you’re the first person that’s really come up with a negative way of looking at it but to each his own.

@@Overtimewayne he was a DJ and as a DJ was able to connect people that would’ve never networked outside of their own neighborhoods in order to create the strongest front in the last true frontier of prison owned wrap music in the United States of America. It just happened to be coming from the last coast to get any kind of recognition or attention so we already learned how to sell things out of the trunk instead of expect to sell them for three times as much and pay back pennies on the dollar per copy sold commercially. But to say it’s just music is something that might’ve sounded dope in the moment but if it was just music to DJ screw, then he wouldn’t have screwed it. It was a lifestyle to him, and if you feel like your opinion is more than just that about regular speed tracks than just ask big demo who commented below about how I was able to make it sound the same quality and speed as the day they recorded it. You might not appreciate the way the big Mo sounds like a church choir or how young all of these people obviously were when they recorded, and you might not get crump to it, but I do LMAO a lot more than I did to the Kris Kross track Jermaine Dupri put together with this before tried to sell it to town for a million Bajillion dollars but if you just wanna come in jam slow down then I got that for you too, so please do both sides of the stew and let your opinions be known there too because I think they’ll balance out whatever negative feelings you found listening to the most famous screw track in history being played at the same speed. It was recorded at back in that screw shop in real time before he slowed down.

That would make no sense. Then how did the vocals get slowed if the beat was already slow during the recording? You can pitch shift the vocals and retain the same tempo but the key would be completely off from the beat during the melodic parts of the freestyle. Been recording, producing, and engineering since 1998.

It’s the exact same speed as the original instrumental. Which would’ve been the cut that they were using whenever they cut the freestyle at screws house. The way I did it was by using A clipboard program in order to stack the original song on top of the freestyle and then started guess and checking at what speed to change the freestyle to until I had an exact match for the beats and they all lined up across the entire song
