Thank you once again. I wondered if you could tell us some other NZ Gardeners that are on u tube? Is there anyone in the South Island please? Or do you ever visit other Gardeners that you could film. I realise that it all takes time and I really am thankful for all you do. I find myself watching a lot from other countries but would love to see more from here at home.

Hey @@Homegrownhappinessnz , I have been watching your videos for a while now, and the same as Dianne, the climate is so different here, so thought I would start my own channel.... 2 weeks in! Would love to be able to contact you somehow for some top tips and pointers! If you search (ru)grew you'll find me

I just love your channel. I’m gaining confidence from you x I’m really new to this, but can you please do a video showing how to cheaply start your seeds? I don’t want to kill anything by planting too soon. Thank you so much 😊

Thanks for the updates, it’s really good to see the progress on another nz garden. Do you have many slugs in Welly? I am in Hamilton and have tons of them, I have to go out several nights a weeks to pick them off so that they don’t eat everything........I have lost many pak choi seedlings, it seems to be the slugs favorite treat! I also struggle with my pak choi flowering when they are very little, they are still tasty, but they never get to a decent size, do yours get big?

Great to see your winter garden from 2019. I also grow heaps of caulis and am experimenting with growing in pots. I'm interested in where in NZ you got the perennial cauliflower seeds?
@Homegrownhappinessnz3 жыл бұрын
I got mine as seedlings from kahikatea farms :)

Loved the update of your garden, is it possible to do one on your chickens, I have just recently got 2 brown shavers and I find there is not alot on backyard ( or in my case front yard) chicken keeping in NZ.

Do you make your own seed raising mix or do you buy it?
@Homegrownhappinessnz5 жыл бұрын
Cristian Rosescu if I’m sowing seeds and in trays to keep outside I’ll make my own (I have a recipe on my blog). If I’m keeping the seeds in my house, for example with my spring seedlings then I’ll buy it as my homemade stuff usually has little bugs in it

Hey there.. How are you? I need lil help.. Can you suggest me if I don't have Dutch oven than how should I bake my sourdough bread .. We do have cast iron pans but that can burn the crust.
@Homegrownhappinessnz5 жыл бұрын
Habib ur Rehman hey you need to create some steam. A ramekin with some ice cubes in it works. I would still use a cast iron pan, preheat it, place in your dough and Add that in to a very hot oven along with the ice. Have the oven initially very hot but you can always turn it down after the 15-20 minutes or so it it’s browning too quickly

@@Homegrownhappinessnz thanks a lot for your reply.. Please make more sourdough videos on pizza NAAN.. Pan cakes .. It really means alot.. If possible make sourdough bread video without Dutch oven ..your videos are very easy to follow and don't miss steps. Right now I was proofing my sourdough Indian NAAN but it doesn't seems to rose even after 24 hours.. Even though my starter is very bubbly and floating on the water.

@@Homegrownhappinessnz I want to ask you. I was making two doughs .. For pizza.. One has collapsed and other has a lot of bubbles. It is 70 percent dough. And 100 % starter .. What should I do. I dough seems too thin and overprooved.
