I saw Thelma. Great movie about phone scammers , aging, senior citizens and relationships with their family and friends. It is very funnny , touching and Thelma is a smart, brave, tough lady who just happens to be a senior citizen. I hope Ms Sqibbs gets a Oscar for her portrayal of Thelma., she is excellent in this movie.

I called the number and the scammed sold phone to a guy in Canada. Told the Canadian guy story and he got rid of phone, he had no clue.

The fact that she had never used a computer mouse before but uses her phone all the time and has used an ipad tells me that older people can adapt to modern technology fine when given the right tools to do so, cause now she essentially knows how to used a modern computer with it all being on your phone, my mum is the same way, she knows how to use a computer but is always on her phone now and uses it without any problem, just think it's a nice development that has happened. Also the scams problem is something we are all susceptible to even though they have a trend of targeting the elderly, they are becoming a lot more sophisticated and scummy, i like how the movie addresses that too cause the scam she falls for is something that would have anyone start panicking over, she's not just some doddering mr magoo sending money to a Nigerian prince.
