June was a great reading month for me. Finished 'The Long Walk' Read 'Billy Summers' Read 'Dune' Read 'Dune Messiah' Read 'The Weight Of Blood' Started 'Children of Dune' I usually only read about two or three books a month, so this is great for me.

@BookishDrummer of the Stephen Kings, it was 'The Long Walk'. The best 'Dune' was the first one. 'The Weight Of Blood' is a retelling of 'Carrie'. I think I've made my love for 'Carrie' quite clear at this point, so I loved it.

The Tamir Triad! I actually need to finish up videos on that trilogy very soon. I agree with you about Lynn Flewelling's writing, it's just engaging. The Bone Doll's Twin is basically a gothic horror setup in a fantasy world, I had a blast reading it. The second and third books are just as engaging, they stray into more familiar political/classic fantasy territory. You're literally the only person I know on here other than me who's now read that book.

Never heard of Bone Doll's Twin but consider me completely sold!! And sad I missed out on What Lies in the Woods, I really need to get to that one! Hope you find a new 5-star fave in July 🤩

Great video! The Illustrated Man is my favorite Bradbury collection. I enjoyed the entire Harry Potter series but not as much as most, still lots of fun though. Hope you have a great July!

I’m the same way with mysteries & thrillers. It’s difficult to give them 5 stars. I gave What lies in the Woods 4.5-5 stars. Five star - Leather & Lark and HP4!! HP5 is the biggest! I’m trudging through it. They’re all 5+ stars for me. I’ll continue to reread them. My favorite is 6.

@@nancywolf1467 HP 6 is definitely one of my favorites, book 5 I remember not liking. I’ve definitely given some thrillers 5 stars but I always KNOW when it’s a 5 star read lol

Awesome video Jake! Too bad you haven’t found your 5 star yet. A Touch of Light is a book I’ve been curious about, but I’m on the fence lol. My favorite book of June was a toss up between Lost Metal and Empire of the Damned lol.
