hopefully there will be a video. It's doubtful, but I'm hopeful since JK is in the US right now. His military enlistment starts Dec 12th so time is running out. :( So sad that the solo side of his career is blowing up right at the time that he has to go into the military in order to be out in time for BTS to reunite in 2025. I respect his decision, though. I think his brothers and BTS mean even more to him than his solo career. It's endearing. I think he (and all the members) can have both when they get out. :)

I do love this version, but something in me is sad that they picked the title track of his very first solo album to remix. I would have preferred a whole new song or any of his other songs. I know there are those people who always find something to complain about and that's what I feel like saying this, but it's just my honest reaction. Deep down, I wanted his first title track to be one that people will remember and listen to 25-50 years from now. All I know is that the RnB King met the KPOP King and it was match made in heaven. I'm still getting over hearing Usher my fave Rnb singer on a track with my fave Kpop artist. This is on repeat. I think JK is literally checking off all the artists he admires and loves one by one. I'm so happy and proud of him. I also hope that now this masterpiece can get the radio play it deserves - literally the best song out there at the moment

I've been looking forward to seeing your reaction to the remix ever since I first heard it yesterday (have been offline for so long) because I had a feeling you guys would be just as mind-blown about this as I am... I really wanted to look for kindred spirits... people who know the vast musical legacy involved in why and how this is such an awesome track.. people who know that KPop in particular and Global Dance Pop in general, really owe so much to soul, funk, Rnb etc...to artists like MJ, who also owed so much to those who came before him. Like you, I grew up listening to Usher and I gravitated to his music because of MJ.. and I gravitated to KPop because of RnB and HipHop. so thank you for this review! I wish you guys all the best, as always. I first found out about the song through JK's music video here on YT. and gosh! I really love it when Big Hit doesn't hold anything back, The production value and the level of creative collaboration really is amazing. just goes to show how performance arts, when done so well, has the power to move people's souls and bodies. even the choreography is remarkable. I immediately geeked out over it and wanted to know the songwriters/producers so I also checked it out on Spotify (so I could also add it to my playlist) and was amazed to see the songwriting/product ion force behind it. it amazes me how people have the ability tap into all the good stuff about music and create something that can be enjoyed by all extant peoples in the world. It's awesome that JK got the opportunity to be the one to perform it and bring it to life through his immense talent and skill. I'm so glad to see how much he has grown as a performer. this is good proof of how longevity in KPop is really a combination of so many things: hard work; innate talent and continuous self-improvement; and that zaa zaa zoo, the pizaaz, the rizz that isn't something that can be faked, and is indispensable to a good performance that'll resonate to anyone who loves what a good vibe this genre naturally gives to people. the song itself is such a musical marvel! a very good example of how music can be so timeless. AND JUST WHEN I THOUGHT THINGS COULDN'T GET ANY BETTER... ... I SAW THE REMIX WITH USHER! ❤🤯 and it was such a treat to hear how Usher bodied the song and just took it to a whole other level. reminding us of the roots of the genre. it makes one pleasantly nostalgic and hopeful about the future of music. I can imagine how JK must have been so honored to get to work with Usher and vice versa. Also proud of JK for showing how he has an ability to keep his own end up while working with a musical legend like Usher. I checked if there was already a music video for the remix, but only found the teaser (which was done in such a cool way, BTW. nothing but that timeless smoothness, that's fundamental to this amazing genre) Can't wait for it's official premier tomorrow here on YT (Dec 15,2023). This is the sort of music that helps humanity remember the good things in life despite all the bad things which we can't avoid or escape. Good music makes a hard life become bearable.

At first listen I wasn’t completely in love with it honestly but the more I listen to it the more it’s growing on me. The beginning of the second verse where usher comes in kinda through me off a bit but it got into a good groove in about 3 seconds into it. I am OBSESSED with the “Next to You harmony though! I didn’t think this song needed a remix. (3d needed one haha) The song alone is amazing but I loved the idea of the usher collab. Adding my 2 cents from the South Side of Chicago.......I have the benefit of just watching the MV. OMG I'm a 73 yr old grandma who loves music and have followed the current trends of music and have favorites along the way. A Beatles Baby, and a BTS Army. R n B for sure. Usher is soooo smooth on this track and sorry Chris Brown and whoever. Usher is still on top of the dance ladder, always will be. Love you guys!

yeah, it's like pulling teeth to get them to play JK on the radio. I do daily request for the BTS related songs I think they might play and still most of them don't even have Jung Kook as an option to request or make alerts for. It's ridiculous with him having so many songs in the top 10 or even top 5 and all English. It's deliberate, imo. Radio hold the power of the charts. I saw a report last week comparing Taylor's song to the Beatles and JK as far as radio play. This is no shade on Taylor. I like her music a lot. It's shade on radio. They played Taylor's song 77+MILLION times, The Beatles almost 2 MILLION times, and JK 400 THOUSAND times. That is 76,600,000 more radio air plays for Taylor than JK. I wouldn't expect them to play him more, but come on. That's not even hiding the fact that you are not going to support him. For him (them/BTS - members and other Asian artists) to ever get a top 10 or to top the chart is HUGE... because they do it without the support of radio. I wish there were some brave journalist willing to take on Western music and show the discrepancy.

love it, love your reaction. I also like the fact that Usher put in his own flavor, style, and lyrics. Would have liked to hear the two of them singing together, some harmonization on the final bits but it was still a great collab.

JK just flew out to LA to film the video. Usher even posted a picture of them together, as a teaser. So did some of the Golden BoyZ (dancers). JK's hair is even a little shorter (as he told us was gonna happen)
