I think the reason why Jungkook is demonstrating more of his fierce performance skills in Standing next to you compared to seven and 3D is because those songs have a more casual, chill vibe. Where as standing next to you is a statement, performance song. Rather than him liking one over the other I feel like he adapted his performance accordingly to match the feeling of the songs. Through out his career in BTS we’ve seen how expressive and intense he is on stage. He’s just brought that back into play as standing next to you demands that vibe from him. He’s a true performer and incomparable vocalist. I’m so proud of him and his growth. Golden is a masterpiece 💜✨🔥

This🔥 I wanted to comment something similar, but you just explained it perfectly. Jungkook has even said during the Spotify interview that he liked Seven/3D(Sorry I don't remember which one of those two he said) way more than Standing Next to You at some point. He just adapts to the vibe of the songs, which is something he has always excelled at.

No one does it like him. NO ONE can sing live that perfectly, even better than the recording, while dancing to one of the most intense choreo for a solo stage (please watch Jimmy Fallon live for a more intense version). And mind you this song is hard! The pitch is high and requires constant switching between head and chest voice, yet he pulls it off so seamlessly that we can't even tell. Damn, he is truly gifted with the most enviable vocal agility ever!

When I saw him smile with the head tilt I was smiling ear to ear. I’ve seen him smile before, obviously but this smile was so different. It felt so genuine of where he was at right there. The look in his eyes and that dimple shot told me he was fully immersed, content and relaxed with himself with his performance. He’s usually saying “I messed up. I’ll try harder next time”. He preferred Seven, and it's been reported he wasn't sure about doing SNTY. It's possible the genre, funk, took him out of his comfort zone initially. What he's discovered, and we are blessed to see, is Jungkook is a Funk/R&B natural. Those driving drums, deep bass and horns allow his vocals to undulate, and his body to sway as he vibes to those funky beats. I'm sure he was worried some would accuse him of copying MJ, but no need to worry. These men are very similar, but where MJ's touch was light but aggressive, JK displays a strong, sensual, and alluring aggression. Simply put Jungkook's physical tools are more manly whereas MJs were more theatrical. Jungkook, as he always does, has chosen to let his body enjoy this song and we'll see him become more comfortable with each performance. He has arrived. The only question now is how much higher he will go beyond all who came before him. MJ would be honored for someone as humble and kind as Jungkook to be next in line for the GOAT crown. I've watched the careers of both men and Jungkook has all he needs to be the best. Get on board or get left behind. At minimum get a physical copy of Golden. It will be an all-time classic.
