I believe that Jungle Rock island might be an interpretation of the "Mariana Islands" in the Philippines back in WW2 when the Japanese temporarily invade the islands after the Americans settled to defend it. The americans were then able to claim the island back to the phillipines. this was part of the pacific war. These islands were also known to be volcanic which fit with the volcano found in the map. It would also explain the Japanese airplane and military bases laid out around the island.
@Hornet_Gaming

Better theory: It was originally a Japanese island but they lost it in WW2 when US forces invaded which would explain the old signs (then new ones), the japanese architecture, and the abandoned Zero in the hanger. Also if you look at the runway Parts of it are a temporary runway that were used at locations were development is still under going showing that it was abandoned halfway thru full construction. The Hawaiian license plates are more modern looking which would also back this theory. In conclusion I believe that JRI originally belonged to another island nation, probably in the south pacific, then was captured in the late 1930s by japan before the actual start of WW2. They used it as a refueling point and a temporary outpost before the war and once the war started it was fortified and real runway construction was started. During 1943-45 the Americans landed on one of the beaches and made their way through to the military locations taking them out from the ground. Then being captured and not having any real reasons for staying it was again abandoned (besides for the shipping lanes) and left sitting in its current state, until the digsites appear on what was most likely a camp site for the japanese surrounded by the mountains and factories as cover. lemme know what you think.

I thing I miss from BeamNG the most is a complete lore with all the brands, locations and everything. The lore is now actually broken because the BeamNG brand exist in BeamNG's world too and it's not definied what kind of company this is. And the only building that had the BeamNG logo was on Dry Rock Island, which is the only removed map in BeamNG. By the way there is a tunnel in Jungle Rock Island with the year "1931" on it, so it's probably a WWII military island.

To add to the lore, JRI not only has a hidden bunker entrance, it also has ruins of a resort, and a tunnel with the completion date being in the 1930's The excessive amount of infrastructure such as a port, observatory, a mine, and more in JRI proves that JRI was once a thriving economy until it was devastated by war and maybe the depression. The only buildings left were the ones designed to withstand time, which explains why we do not see any houses or towns. They simply have decayed to nothing by lack of use.

To me, what makes the most sense is that this was a Japanese-controlled military base during WWII that America later reacquired after the end of the war. Also, Hirochi Raceway being in America means nothing, cause it’s like Mazda Laguna Seca.
@biponacci
@biponacci Жыл бұрын
I think it’s just intended to be a fictional but isolated island in the state of Hawaii. It was probably originally inspired by something like the Bonin Islands in the Northern Pacific, a group of heavily forested tropical islands owned by Japan in the Pacific, but later reverted to be an American territory, explaining why driving is on the other side of the road. I suggest this may have been done because it would involve coding traffic to spawn on the other side of the road, as I believe there were no other maps with traffic on that side of the road at the time. The abandoned buildings and warplanes are simply a product of the island being in the Pacific theatre of WWII. Many former conflict zones and former airstrips in the pacific are now mostly or entirely abandoned, so this is nothing out of the ordinary. As for Hirochi Raceway, it’s not entirely unheard of for a foreign manufacturer to sponsor a raceway in another country. It’s probably done in a similar manner to Mazda Laguna Seca; Hirochi being chosen as the only ‘sporty’ brand at the time aside from Civetta, which lets face it, is not a name you’d see sponsoring anything american as a more ‘high end brand’.

i feel like rather than japan beating us in ww2 this hawaiian island might be where something similar to pearl harbor is located, or this might be a better target for some unknown reason. hirochi raceway might be a similar case to laguna seca.

Yeah i heard those creepy sounds a while back and tried searching for a vid showing it, but i only found like 4 vids on it. Before watching this video, im just going to guess that it was an old millitary base in the pacific ocean during ww2 and got invaded by either japan or usa, this would make sense because of the airbase, the weapons and the volcano (the ring of fire basically surrounds the pacific so it would make somewhat sence) Anyway that my speculation before watching the vid 👍

Hirochi raceway being similar to the real Laguna Seca (Mazda Raceway) in california but located in a fictional area in the state of Maine. It's most likely that the island was owned by Japan during ww2 and was taken over by the usa and is now just an abandoned island in the pacific west of the hawaiian islands, it might just be around the marshall islands and gilbert islands.

I'll give my theory: Jungle Rock Island used to be colonized by Japan in late 1943, but during island hopping campaigns it was taken by the USA. After the war ended, during construction on the island and transitioning sides of the road, the volcano or possibly old explosives cause the island to be evacuated. All the buildings remained from Japanese occupation but eventually started decaying.

I've always thought that maybe after WWII a tribe, that lived on the island before WWII, retook the island from the soldiers that were still there, because you always see videos of people explaining how crazy these tribes are and how isolated they are. Perhaps on Jungle Rock Island there is an ancient tribe that rules the island

It definitely was something like a war outpost, that's what I like to think too, because of the numerous defense cannons, the runway and the bunkers. The plane appears to indeed have Japanese markings on it. I should look at it ingame to see if I can determine a real life model out of it. Regarding the Hirochi raceway, its name probably inspired to the Mazda Laguna Seca raceway, so nothing too out of the ordinary if that was to be the case

my theory of jungle rock island: In 1941, during attack on Pearl-Harbour, japanese troops have captured the JRI, and they were holding it around a yearz but then, US forces destroyed Japanese forces, and returned control of the Island. In 1969, There was a volcanic eruption, and it didn't destroy the buildings that we can see on the map today, but it destroyed the small city, that was existing in my theory. And it had around 100 civils in it. In 1979, US tried to launch military program on JRI to spy on the USSR (Kamchatka, and Kurils). But the project failed. In 1990, some private corporation started a small research mission on the JRI, to research JRI animals. In 2001, Japan just funded it, and sent japanese researchers too. Explaning why the signs was on left side: Japanese engineers just placed it on other side, US government allowed them do that. In 2011, Researches were returned to Japan, due to events that happened in Japan 2011. So the Signs were placed on other side. 2011-2023 - Small research program is still ongoing, so that's why we can see some campsites in there. Program is from only volunteers that wanted to go in JRI. Why is the Hirochi Racing Track in USA? - Hirochi has a big market in US, so it has 2 racing tracks. One is in Japan (my theory), and in the US. Hirochi is sponsor of many races, related to motorsport. (Like F1 but not only F1) I think in BEAMNG universe, Japan still lost the war. But Japan had more success at the battlefield.

my theory is that JRI might've been a hotspot for drug trafficking, since there's no signs of law enforcement, and there's an airfield perfect for exporting such materials. Due to that, Japan, which normally owned JRI has handed it over to America while trying to lower the import of drugs from JRI. The overwhelming cartel control of the island caused the inhabitants to move out, since the living conditions deteriorated with no outside help. Now, the US has put out a campsite on the cartel-ridden island, planning to make a possibly hostile takeover. And well, this theory would also be a nice start for some possible story mode, where we find ourselves in the US army, chasing cartel members throughout the island and busting hidden farms.

I believe the Hirochi Raceway is the same as Mazda Raceway (Laguna Seca) now Weathertech Raceway. the way most stadium and racetrack in US work is that the official sponsor of that track/stadium gets to have their brand in the name. since mazda was a sponsor of Laguna Seca for 17 years the track was known as Mazda Raceway until 2018. Although the theory is pretty good i think that japan didn't take over. i think the more logical theory would be that Beam's WW2 had the same result as in real life but the battles took place in other places in Beam

Japan used to controll a lot of Island in the Pacific which after the war were taken over by the Americans (Guam for example). It's entirely possible that used to be a Japanese colony before being transfered to the US and becoming a part of the territory (later the state) of Hawaii

Mazda Raceway Laguna Seca is located in California, even if Japan didn't win WW2. Hirochi either just sponsored the track or commissioned it to be built. And perhaps the Island was occupied by the Japanese during WW2, but was then reclaimed by the Americans after Japan surrendered.

I think japan owned jri pre wwii but the us nuked it insted of hiroshima and nagisaki explaining the bus stops, bunkers, and the damage to buildings seems to line up more with extreme wind rather than an earthquake (most notibly knocked over fences) however this theory leaves a massive issue, the Hawaiian license plate but i have thought of this as well, what if the us got jri from japan post wwii and we were driving around using vehicles brought in from hawaii since it would be the closest us territory to do reconnaissance to see if it is habitable yet and the later versions are a result of the us trying to inhabit the island such as the camps and bus stops

And almost all of them were the same result ,but the only mission that anyone dint die ,was a 2009 mission ,to this day ,the island still is haunted

after whatching this i made a small investigation in the map i think the damages are because of the war and earthquake at the same time i just figured out that the earthquake is happened at the same time as war.i know it because when im checking the mansion i notticed that they left it under construction before the damages i think while they are building it the war started so they abondoned it then maybe military use it as a operations base after that it got damaged by earthquake

My theory is that the Island got abandoned by the americans after ww2, before the Americans took over the island it was probably Japanese and the Americans were just to lazy to get rid of it since the island did have anything of their interest on it. The thing with the Hirochi raceway being in America, thats probably bc it's cheaper to build a race track in America and it makes some sort of extra appeal to the Customers

Copy pasting a reddit comment of mine from a while back: The various buildings on the map give some interesting clues as to what might have gone on. firstly, there's an old fortress on one side of the island, likely from the 16th-18th century, and built by spanish or french explorers, perhaps as a supply or naval outpost. regardless of the details, it's clear that the island's location in the pacific is very useful for strategically placed outposts. the next clues come with some of the earlier 20th-century-looking architecture, such as the dam (which is made out of brick), the lighthouse, and the road tunnel on the archipelago with the very conspicuous construction date of "1931" overhead the entrances. the next, and probably most well-known set of things are from WW2; the airfield, the various anti-aircraft guns and bunkers strewn across the island. AFAIK, the guns shown are an American model, and the airfield runway uses American "marston mat" steel plates, though some of the bunkers more resemble japanese designs, and there's a mitsubishi (or maybe hirochi?) fighter in the hangar, so it's possible the island was initially under american control, but was taken over by the japanese some time during the war. after this point, the observatory was likely built, (possibly by a private investor, as they often were in remote locations), the concrete/steel construction suggests post-war. the cargo docks and industrial site may have existed before this point, but it seems a lot of the infrastructure, including the cranes, were put in some time in the 50s at earliest. I say that because a lot of the industrial buildings have safety signage, which from what I can find, was only Standardized in the US in the 50s, and No-Smoking Signs wouldn't have entered use for a lot longer. once we get to around the 60's, though, it gets interesting. A large amount of roads have proper line marking done, there are quite a few solid concrete bridges, roads with armco barriers, etc, and the large curved tunnel above the dam has straight concrete roof bearers, and a very architectural open layout, which would only have been feasible by the 60s at least. the hotel building appears to also be from this era, so it seems likely someone put a lot of money into trying to modernise and bring tourism to the island, and it's also feasible to suggest that the industry was still going at this point. next, it should be mentioned that quite a few buildings seem to have quite severe damage to them; the observatory and the hotel primarily, suggesting there may have been quite a severe earthquake which encouraged people to leave the island. it's possible someone returned and unsuccessfully attempted to rebuilt the hotel, hence the scaffolding and construction supplies around it. the last clue is the lack of any substantial damage to roads; if such an island were abandoned for an extended period of time, you'd expect quite large trees to have established themselves all over at least the back roads, but there's nothing visible, suggesting that even if the roads were cleared shortly before your arrival, there must have only been small trees there. in that case, i'd guess that most people left some time in the 70s or 80s, but a handful of people continued to live on the island, perhaps to continue running the port.

The fact that the Hirochi raceway is in the US isn't that much of a proof, since in real life the laguna seca american circuit was known as "mazda raceway laguna seca" until about 2018

I would love to see where this sfx I’m talking about is in the Audio files. See if you can find something that sounds like roaring/screaming. If you can’t do this it’s alr but idk how to do it on my own. Thanks.

Hmm. I'm my opinion its more likely that Japan in the BeamNG universe hold out longer in ww2(maybe 3-5 years more after 1945) and thats why there is bunkers and AA guns. After they Finally surrender the usa maybe just rebuild/repair the port and modernize it throughout the decades but left most of the island untouch.

or that the americans and japanese had a major fight at JRI and afterwards the island was abandoned perhaps in fear of the volcano
