I feel like the best death metal was done in both sides of 90's. The music was sooo dirty, wild, nasty and unpredictable. And most of the bands had their very own vibe and sound. Entombed, Carcass, Morbid Angel, Obituary, Bolt Thrower, Demilich... even more technical bands were very unpredictable. Like scifi-oriented Nocturnus, or Atheist who wasn't afraid to blend jazz vibes or even bird singing into their death metal. Hell, these dudes did whatever they wanted :D

Try pestilence-out of the body. Also this album was made by 18 years old. During the middle of the song when you hear the band start playing, is actually a theme song to the horror movie Phantamsa.

C'mon bro, you don't know of the "traditional" tone for swedish death metal? I can't believe that. You seemed pretty versed, when it comes to music/genres. They came out with it. It's a tone I can recognize anytime. Very distinct. I think I asked for them before... you may try Evocation - Condemned to the Grave which is another swedish death metal band.
@JuniioMusic5 жыл бұрын
I'll add evocation to the list! And as far as this traditional tone, I feel you man - once you know it is pretty recognizable. And while I am quite well-versed on the different genres of metal, I don't know everything. A lot of the classic stuff I'm still in the process of discovering for the first time!
@warphalak5 жыл бұрын
@@JuniioMusic Yeah... I don't know about it anymore man... I mean, I asked for some songs that I enjoy on other channels too and I get kinda "disappointed" when they don't enjoy it as much as I do. I mean, I got some 20+ years of metal listening and I thought I knew some shit... but maybe I don't. I enjoy what I enjoy and it has to be enough for me (:)) st00pid, isn't it? I'm with stupid, if you catch ma drift, brah! ;) ). Well, I learned something the other day, that there's a difference between Gothenburg death metal and Stockholm death metal... so I totally agree with that "knowing" statement, but I'll surely try to know everything... when it comes to things I'm interested in. Horns up bro, and keep 'em coming, whenever you feel like!

You want something badass to react to, check out "In This River" live in Paris by Black Label Society. If you haven't been introduced to Zakk Wylde, it's about that time. He's a legendary metal guitarist. That performance is a tribute to Dimebag Darrell from Pantera, they were good friends before Dime was murdered. He's on par with Dime in terms of skill. He plays with his teeth in that video at one point haha. If that's not reason enough to check it out, then I don't know what is lol. Here's the link kzbin.info/www/bejne/q6qXnaZjq52cn68

Great reaction. Great band! Since you liked En-tombed, how about some En-slaved? Okay, cheap segue, but you like both old-school _and_ proggy stuff, so would be great to see you do a video on them. Started out all black/viking metal, now progressive extreme metal. Would recommend for instance the track Nauthir Bleeding from In Times, or Sacred Horse from E but they've got tons of great stuff.
