If there was ever a list of the most underrated players, Juninho will top the list. I have never seen the helplessness on the faces of goalkeepers as against Juninho's freekicks. Most the free kicks the goalkeeper has either made no attempt or taken a false start in the opposite direction as they couldn't predict that any mortal would attempt a goal in such acute angles. Their issues dealing with his free kicks have been compounded with the insane double swings of the ball resulting from a destructive force from his knuckle ball strikes. There are a few who try this even today but the balls being lighter do not elicit the same aerodynamics and quite simply, they are no as talented as him.

Bien q lo menciones,era suplente por decisión técnica,no por falta d calidad porque es obvio q la tenía de sobra,Scolari es un técnico con filosofia d futbol defensiva,precavido,por la cantidad y clase d talento q tuvo en su periodo en la Seleçao es que ganó titulos, Juninho pudo jugar más en la verdeamarella sustituyendo a Emersón q era más defensivo y con menos proyección al ataque,y haciendo dupla con Gilberto Silva como doble contención, con el valor agregado de su maestría para el disparo de media y larga distancia, un genio d los tiros libres...
