His boxings actually better than Juniors tho, its jus here it was his early career and mma is harder and different than boxing. And even then stipe still beat Junior when he was in his prime. I say stipe beat him bc he had more takedowns, shots and aggression jus the decision went to Junior. stipe beat him the second time with only punches and even then Junior was using kicks

This is my favorite heavyweight fight, what a war and JDS showed he still had it after taking 2 absolutely brutal beatings from Cain. With the shots they were both landing I couldn’t believe it went the distance, Junior had a great chin until the wars finally caught up to him.

At that time, stipe is nobody in the eyes of ufc, he is very strong, underated, but still nobody in the eyes of ufc. JDS is in the peak of his career so the judges gave the winner to him. Stipe is clearly disappointed as he walk away after the announcement but he still respect JDs they shake hands after. At this time we dont know how strong stipe is. One thing is sure he go toe to toe with JDs in striking, JDS face more bloodied than stipe. Wonder if that time stipe is well known the judges result might be different.
