An absolutely fantastic tune from a super lovers artist, those cold, dark, English winter nights. Condensation ran down frosted windows competing with the warmth of young hearts; black folk getting down in the midst of dimly lit safe rooms, with only a kitchen light representing the bar to illuminate the busy hallway for the posers and stylers. I am young enough to still feel the loving vibe and atmosphere that lingers but old enough to shed a tear, at the many lost souls. I love my people.

When Junior English re-did this beautiful Curtis Mayfield ballad, he really gave our1970s reggae loving teenage generation a refreshing view of just how deeply spiritual a reggae romance could be. Talk about falling in love with someone whilse dancing. How could we not, when a ballad was so sublime and moving!! In the way Junior expressed these lyrics, he was a real artist adding just the right brush stroke to impart the delicacy of emotions.

Does anyone know the Curtis Mayfield original of this song? its called 'Love to Keep You in my Mind'. You can tell that many Jamaican artists from that era were big Curtis Mayfield fans. Junior English, Junior Murvin (Police & Thieves) & many others adapted Curtis's falsetto into their own singing style. 60's & 70's soul & R'n'B were hugely influential on early Reggae music
