Played blues in Mississippi since 1965, understand all the delta guys, played up until 2019, but the northeast hill country blues was the last manifestation of blues in America. Burnside was there too! As a blues player for 30 years, playing live in Biloxi, Bay St, Louis, Waveland. Covington. Bogulousa, Jackson, Hattieshburg....R.L. Burnside and Junior Kimbrough were the final, and best, manifestation of Mississippi Blues

1:51. If you wanna understand the groove, just listen to those guiter licks with the backing drums and bass. Simple on the surface, but only legends can lay it down so smooth and funky. 20 seconds of pure bliss. RIP Jr and thank you

I’ve been listening to this since I was 17. Now I’m 23 and I’ve learned how to play it on an acoustic guitar. It always gives me goosebumps listening to Junior Kimbrough, there’s some pain and joy in his voice that my words will never be able to describe. By far my favourite musician, you simply can’t get tired of his music. ❤

Truly lucky enough to be able to be friends and talk with Robert Kimbrough Sr whenever I need some guitar advice.. He's so down to earth and will answer you and anybody with your questions!!, he even personally wished my wife a happy bday this year!!.....even about POP(Junior) as he likes to call his Dad!❤ Duwayne Burnside is the same way!! God bless the Kimbroughs and Burnsides!

He invented a new paced type of blues. Dig how it's different from all else. Man's a genius - its like out in the country in the wide woods blues. Finns love blues and would love this. I hope they know cause I have everything he ever did, well on fat possum at least, couple others. Mr. Kimbrough and T-model Ford, bunch of others on small labels out of Chicago or distributed out of Chicago. I worry about them and Delmark studio and the music from going completely digital like a ghost. It will disappear if it's not tangible, gotta hold the album or record in your hands, build a relationship with it. Care for it, etc. It's more human, and everything is more human than anything, so why did fat possum have any trouble when it did? We forget where we came from and the meaningful stuff that went with it. This form of listening to music is becoming robotic. I doubt it was ever our true intention to be hollow as that's where it leads with the strangeness of an automated world kind of thrown together, ill maintained, choking to death - save tangible music cds records shoot, tapes, uh, laserdisc, I don't care anything is better than having a library in a stick - I see the convenience but there is also the price of adventure to pay as all becomes streamlined as a twinkie

Would Henry Thomas be considered one of the godfathers of Hill Country Blues or was he from a different region. This song has some of the same spirit.
@DockingFreidmanRecords4 ай бұрын
It's very inspired by Henry Thomas. Henry was from Texas though. There is always some intersect in music. Both artists were probably on the same vibration tbh.
