Thank you for posting this event - these young ladies are beautiful, brave and determined together with their dedicated coaching teams. I appreciate the knowledge and background information provided by the two lively commentators also. As a retired academic, I recall a student attempting the difficult balance of pursuing both her academic demands together with her sporting, ice skating ambitions - not easy. Unfortunately, despite offering some additional tutorials and support, she eventually gained a disappointing ( to her ) degree 2nd class, not the high 1st she was more than capable of achieving, so young people need to be aware that the demands do have consequences with less than favourable outcomes sometimes. Not an easy sport - the many falls each competitor suffers must be quite painful, and I have been so impressed how quickly they are back on their feet to skate to the end of their programs :)

In my humble opinion, Lulu Lin from Canada wins the award for prettiest dress. It looked so nice while she was skating.

I remember the previous stage of the JPG in Riga and the completely crowded grandstands, when Trusova and other Russian girls took part in it. And now the stands are empty. ISU, you are killing figure skating. Shame on you!
@zuzannachylinska44454 ай бұрын
have you seen trusova's new program? without quads she is a completely average, boring skater, she has nothing to offer. recently she jumped quad lutz, but the landing was so ugly, i really prefer a stable triples with a soft landing than a sloppy quad with a bent back that hurts my own spine. Valieva gained weight and her female body, which has fat and breast can't handle skating anymore. she even stumbles on steps, falls in slides, looks tired and slow, watch her program to Black panther in Kazan. and the same will happen to those russians who are jumping quads now - their expiration date will expire with growing up. after olimpics russians girls said it straight in interviews - they starved themselves because their coaches demanded it. the russians are those who destroying this sport and destroying children and their health. if someone only wants quads and does not care at what price it is done then he is a person without feelings.

Maybe Trusova killed the interest to it? :) Her skating was mostly only running for the quads... While Mao demonstrating a masterpiece on ice with 4T and 3A in her programme!

@@tiborferenczi9600 I agree, Shimada is a very good skater, but she would hardly be in the top ten at the Russian Junior Championship. Baziliuk, Kosteliova, Dvoeglazova, Lukashova, Andreeva, Priniova, Strelcova, Žilina, etc. is clearly stronger than her. All listed have 3A and two-three different quads each,
@vytautassvanys92814 ай бұрын
@@zuzannachylinska4445 How to understand: "cheats with quads"? The majority of the panel of judges is always made up of judges from countries hostile to Russia, and they are incomparably stricter on Russian athletes than on athletes from the USA and other Western countries. Russia's skaters always were underscored. An example in the current competition would be Anastasia Branderbung. She was badly underscored, probably because her program was built and she was coached by Team Tutberidze.

Forgetting the politics, in terms of technical excellence - this is not exactly blazing bright here , because the Russian young ladies are clearly absent , and they are the ones always pushing the boundaries of excellence and technical perfection .

This competition is a joke without RUSSIAN skaters. Juniours did not land a single 3A or 4T clean. Nothing.. you have Primitive FS and degradation in skill. Jumps of 3+2T , 2 SW- is a joke on international level. Golden Era to Japan skaters- When Rusofobic ISU Banned RUSSIA - Asian can be " champions". a week ago Bazelyuk in Russian FS: 3A, 4T, 4S, 3Lo, 4T+3T , 3Lz+2A+2A, 3L+3T.
