I can understand why people would dislike this season it wasn't you're typical horror junkie cheese film like some of the past seasons. It was a genuine gut wrenching gritty drama with some of the most imperfect yet identifiable characters I have seen in any show. Sure there were probably too many arcs to follow and many probable drew on for far too long but it gave us an deep insight into the characters and there transformations throughout the show. I think this is why it was such a hard and sometimes uncomfortable watch. The emotional roller coaster it took you on felt like you were with them the whole way .... especially that Pepper scene !!!

The Best season of AHS by far. I Always felt as if I was watching a movie when this came on every week, and I felt emotionally attached to the characters . Asylum is a close second.

CasRasper Ok so this is the thing. Freak and asylum do not happen at the same time, freak show actually comes before Briarcliff. first Pepper spends part of her life with elsa in the carnival, then when everyone dies and all the tragedy happens, we are to assume Pepper leaves and ends up being framed for murdering a baby, which lands her in Briarcliff where she then meets Sister Judy, Lana and Kit. Does that make sense?
