Juniper EX2200 Fan Swap

Here I go in an attempt to dull the roar of the fans in my 24 port juniper switch. There's a bug in the firmware that causes the fans to speed up for 2 minutes every 15 minutes or so and its super annoying. So today I swapped out the original 12v fans with some 24v fans. They still provide air circulation without the annoying noise. Also, the system thinks the fans have failed and it runs a little warmer than normal, but its a sacrifice I'm willing to make. Wouldn't recommend for production use, but its perfect for a well ventilated home lab.

Interesting route to solve the problem. I don't care about the noise too much. I would like to convert mine to back to front cooling though. Not sure what I will do yet.

How is this switch going 2 years later? last time i did this i ended up cooking my HP switch.

Добрый день. Подскажите пожалуйста, при покупке junipera продавец не может обеспечить проверку работоспособности. То есть при включение не горят индикаторы sys alm spd dx en poe? Это нормально - но он гудит сзади индикаторы светятся.

после того, как я поменял свои вентиляторы, загорелся индикатор вентилятора. у немодифицированного переключателя не должно быть сигнальных лампочек, но будет гул от вентиляторов.
