Lovely to see your technique in play for bending such material! Thank you for sharing! By the way, the music and mountains were superb!👌

Younger material would make better, more interesting twists, but that is what I had at the time. Now the stock is bigger and more hopeful! Thank you John! Bach and mountains are a nice combination!

Thank you! I appreciate your words more than you know. Planted the first tree, a Cedrus deodara, in July 2010 and I have never stopped since...

That technique to switch twist direction was really good. I'll have to try that

Yes it is, isn't it? And works fine. This bend looks way more natural than typical bends put with wire. Unless we have 50 years of experience like some Japanese have, our bends look kinda man made. This is helpful in getting more natural bends. Cheers!

Really nice bends on those junipers. They will look great once the trunks thicken up in a couple of years 👍 I have a small chinese juniper too. Its just a two or three year old cutting. I wonder if you have some sugestions for me to maximize the growth. Its really healthy and has fresh green foliage but the growth is really slow. Cheers from Germany ✌

Thank you! Yes, exactly. As the trunk thickens and the curves start to touch, that's when it will actually look good. For fast growth you need three things. First, a really good agricated soil mix, 3-5mm particle size. Personally I highly suggest a very well draining soil that will make you water at least 3 times a day in July and August. I find it very important. Second, fully organic fertilizer (with N, P, K around 10) applied through out the growing season (removed during strong heatwaves and placed back again after cooling down, so in some kind of bags). Third as much sunlight they can get (except strong heatwaves where they should be under shade cloth). I know you are warm there these days, maybe a repot is now in order. Here in Greece everything is frozen still! Cheers!

Thanks for your fast response. I Will try to execute your suggestions this season. Lets see how they will work out 👍

Los juníperos son casi plásticos, se pueden hacer grandes torsiones y permiten variadas posibilidades de diseño. Salud.

Hi is there an update of how the tree looks now?
@ArkefthosBonsai Жыл бұрын
I haven't any footage on these. Two of them trained to be cascade (included the one featured) have been potted up, into tall airports to thicken, while the cascade part developed. Wire and raffia has been removed,started to thicken and good strong growth everywhere. Maybe I'll make a video in October! Thank you!

Nice bends! Good Idea with the zip tie. Where are you from? Do you have a Bonsai Nursery or do you just do this as a hobby?
@ArkefthosBonsai2 жыл бұрын
Thank you! I'm from Greece, I don;t have a nursery but I'm working towards it. I'm planning for 1.5 years in the future... Cheers!

Is this, Califórnia Junipers?

I live in Greece. It would be impossible for me to get California junipers. Does it look like California juniper to you? Cheers!
