Great tutorial, Pam. I love that you appreciate the value of junk mail. Another favorite of mine is thin chipboard packaging, like cereal boxes, but I especially like the kind that's a bit thinner. I have picked up tons of jewelry from yard sales. I usually can but all of what they have for just a couple of $$’s. I deconstruct it and have it ready for just about anything. Fun fact about doing this, my husband and I buy silver when we can find it at yard sales as well. I have found, that people don’t realize the value of a broken silver (or gold) necklace and just throw that in with their costume jewelry. It all adds up and we have gotten so really good deals this way.

Very good directions. You could cut another piece of the paper you used to strengthen the top of the bag for the handles and put it in the bottom of the bag.

Pretty cool way to make a gusset! These are cute and handy for any size. Any paper too. Love it. (Treasurebooks here on YT has a good video on gift bags as well.) I love making things from stuff most people would throw away!
