Hello all! I was wondering folks... Do you make things like journal cards) to have a stockpile to pick from at the ready or do you make as you go for a specific journal?
@oneeyeopen50445 жыл бұрын
Pam 💜♥️. Ty again for another wonderful idea!! I I can’t cut a straight line for nothing. LOL
@theresasuttle7115 жыл бұрын
I do both. I like to stock pile but sometimes the ‘theme’ of the journal calls for something different than what I have.

I try and mak ethem in all colors cause these are my favorite to do! Again a video that is so pretty!
@JOBETHSEXTONSCraftyCauldron5 жыл бұрын
I do it both ways, depending on the journal. If I am making for a specific person, I make most things up as I go along. But, if I am putting together a general, junk journal, I just make up a bunch of stuff and then use those.
@elainet58705 жыл бұрын
I do both. I especially like to make things in front of tv. So those items often become my make aheads.

I watched your video on making a junk journal because I was thinking...why would anyone want a journal made with junk....Good Lord help me I am afraid I found my addiction. I still can't say that I would ever write in one of these beautiful pieces of junk art but they have captured my very crafty soul. Love your art and easy going ways, thank you....off to goodwill for some junk nature books that i won't mind cutting up.

My husband and I live with my 93 yr old father in law to help him out, well this past month he has drastically declined and finally is at peace this past Monday. I was watching your video and it really kept my spirits up and today is the first day I had time to sit and have my coffee and to watch you! Thank you for being there and keeping my spirits up! I will still continue my ritual, but at least I know I won’t be heading into a long day. ❤️

@juneribbons51964 жыл бұрын
I've been doing a little of both. The first tech that I made were supposed to be to hold my altered dominos and I did mass production. Then I got a little to fancy and they overwhelmed the dominos. So I have a bunch of them. Then my things were packed and I was watching utube and saw junk journals and fell in love with these and I made the epherma as I went. I did do some mass making of paper clusters when I had no cord to sew signatures into 9 to12 journals. Now I've moved again and my craft materials are again all packed and not crafting was driving me crazy so I had found some of my fabric scraps and lace drawers so I mass made fabric clusters. NIW I'm playing with envelops. I bought a little book to cut up and have made a couple of multiple pocket cards. I made 2 purple card sized that I was going to make into flips, but they would look lovely on journal fronts so I want to mass make more similar to those. I love these little ones. Espically the way you made the heart

I don't know where you come up with all of these fantastic ideas, but I just LOVE this one! I have so many napkins that I use in decorating the junk mail envelopes and would love to use them somehow in my journals. I used to try to make/find supplies as I went along but, thanks to you, I now have a great time making and stockpiling ephemera. I'm a Stickles addict now, too, LOL. Like you, I have to consciously move my work to a drying area or I'm constantly smearing Stickle art. You've given so many of us the inspiration and simple ways to become crafters. Not sure I can express just how thankful I am for all you do. Thank you and God Bless!

Hi Pam, I've watched many of your tutorials but not commented thus far....a little remiss of me! I'll stand myself in the corner for a bit...but what I wanted to say is that I love you come what may attitude, the way that you demonstrate, explain, talk yourself through your tutes. You are so endearing. I also love that your worktop is not pristine, but shows the wear and tear of crafting. Thank you for your tutes and the manner in which you share your love for crafting. oh btw, I love how you used the sanding block to remove the tissue from around the journalling card, but though it was too cumbersome to use on the heart. You could use an emery board on smaller, more intricate objects like the heart. That's what I thought you were going to do. Regardless, thanks for the lessons and the laughs. Jude in the land of Oz!

More great offerings from the Outpost! So glad to know about the clear matte gesso. I enjoy mass making. When I deconstruct a book I separate the pages into piles: envelopes, fussy cuts, pockets, etc. Then I do the basics, faux stitching, inking, background stenciling...it’s nice to just open a box or two, pull a few things out and then go to town customizing!
