Your journal is so beautiful!!! You’re giving me so many ideas with my own :) I am so bad at staying consistent with journaling, im really trying to keep up with it this time.

It would be really cool to see a review and how to use for your main photo printer. I really want to buy one but I’m just not sure which one to buy. Great video as always, your creativity never ceases to amaze me and inspire me ❤️

The Canon Selphy is really nice and versatile. You can print postcard size photos with it or you can get an app like Pic Collage to make a collage of smaller pics, print those out on your postcard size photo paper and cut the tiny photos out to use in your junk journal. Maybe Johanna will do a little how to video on that.

phennec that’s awesome! Im just also curious if it uses ink and special kind of paper or can you use any type and also if it costs a lot haha!

You always make such simple yet beautiful pages In your journals. Mine never look like yours nor come together as quickly. Lol. It’s ok though. I’ll keep trying. It’s a fun process and hopefully someone in my family will want to read and look thru them. Thanks for the inspiration as always.

I have a Canon Selphy and a Fujifilm Instax smartphone printer. Love them both. The Instax prints little polaroid pictures. The Selphy is definitely more versatile. I use an app to make different size little pictures, print them and then cut them out. Perfect for a junk journal. I love the idea of using the thermal printer for notes. Thanks for sharing.

hi johanna, i LOVE your work!!! i have been following you for a long time and studying how you make your journals, i have finally started one of my own based on your process w books, certain papers, ephemera, etc., i was wanting to know if you could direct me to some cute free printables of ephemera like you use in your journals? TIA

I love your videos so much! And I honestly love hearing these lovely little stories about your sweet children, like that laec brings home little things for his brother, I really think it shows that they have a mom who is so loving and attentive and teaches them compassion and love. and I love your journaling style so so much. I love the details a sewing machine can give to a page but for myself i find that after I already stitched the book together it's so hard to put a page through the sewing machine ! I'd love if you had any tips for that

Just watched this video and ordered one of these little printers. Have you found a way to “coat” the photos to stop them from fading over time?

As cute as that printer is, thermal paper is a lousy journaling tool, specifically because it fades away over time and isn't archival. It's sad, because it's a cute idea. But yeah, it would be unfortunate to open your journal in 5 years and find images have gone blank because the thermal paper has faded away. I've had that happen with concert tickets, and I'm always heartbroken to find that concert and movie tickets and receipts I have saved for special memories have faded to nothing over the years. I've started scanning my thermal printed things like tickets and receipts and reprinting them for journal purposes.
@JohannaClough5 жыл бұрын
I actually totally agree with you! I would never use a thermal printer as my only printer, but i still think it’s a fun little tool. I guess it depends on what sort of journaling/memory keeping you are doing..for example some pages i really want to preserve something for as long as possible, but other times i’m just playing around for the sake of the process. I still include original receipts in my journals knowing they will fade. I kinda enjoy the charm of aging and changing in papers and it doesn’t worry me too much as all my original photos are copied and digitised, but that’s just me and i would definitely advise against a thermal printer if you are journaling for preservation 🥰♥️
