Just did this fusion fan controller install exactly like Malcolm shows us in the vid. Completely fixed idle voltage spike issues I was having when the fans would snap on without this. Couldn't be happier with this cooling system upgrade. Keep up the innovative work Malcolm!

Curious if you've shared your print files anywhere on the arduino box you're using for the fox body? I'm building up a MS2 based 22re utilizing a mark8 fan and I'm trying to copy your setup.

I might try this on my cobra with a haltech. It should definitely help out when the fan kicks on at idle. One thing is you said you fed power to the fan controller from the ccrm? So you took the power output from it and sent it to the fan controller. For the ground did you send it to the battery or the frame near it? I know the power and ground that are shrink wrapped together go to the fan.

Yes the fan controller was installed between the CCRM and fan. That is the easiest and most simple way of doing it. I used the power and ground coming from the CCRM and essentially just intercepted the connection between the CCRM & the fan with the fan controller.

@@scottadkins918 I've done it both ways. By using the CCRM in that instance it allowed the MS3 PNP ECU to cut power to the fan at WOT or when MPH exceeds a threshold etc. as the MS3 is in control of the CCRM. However you don't have to use the CCRM as the power source. You can do it directly to the battery.

Just tried this Malcom .. My Ms3 pro is getting really hot when I attach the signal wire? And I smell electrical burning .. and I’m using the same output pin you are ? And also I have 12v at the pwm module on the signal wire I thought that’s ground ?

It sounds like you connected one of the heavy current wires to the MS3 instead of the little signal wire.

@@MalcolmV8 Ok.. no it wasn’t that but I got it straightened out .. is there anyway to invert the duty cycle ? Like now 100% is off and 0% is on.

@@87stevefox Not that I'm aware of. Which input did you use on the MS3? also remember the controller accepts a maximum of 90% duty cycle for fan on max. Setting it to 100% results in the fan shutting off.

Just put in MS3Pro and low speed fan is on with key on. I guess I’ll will have to put in this fan controller too.

While I believe these fan controllers are worth their weight in gold they are not required to fix the issue you mention. The MS3 has an option to allow the fan on when the engine is off. Go into the fan settings and change that to only allow the fan on when the engine is running.

@@MalcolmV8 Yes the setting is at fan on only when engine is on. I set fan control off and used test mode to turn it off. The fan still stays on will key on. No luck.

@@782941105 that sounds like some sort of mechanical fault. Either your CCRM box is acting up or you have a wiring issue. You could reach out to diyautotune and see if there's any other troubleshooting steps they can offer on the MS3 side too.

It's 3.5.2 but the all the fan features I showed are also available on the prior long running 3.5.1

I'm trying to drive one side of a dual Ford Contour fan with a Dorman 902-310 SSR, PWM'd with High Current Out3 from my Ms3Pro EVO running 1.5.2 firmware but TS complains if I set mine up like yours using both the Fan Controller option and Generic PWM output A. It seems I can use one or the other but not both together and I don't see the "Cooling Fan High" option like in your vid at 5:48. Any ideas what I'm missing? TS version is latest also. v3.1.08. Thanks!

One more question, what amp relay do you recommend

Depending on your fan but most likely a 40 amp relay.

What cooling fan are you using? Did you just wire the controller to the high speed side to have full use?

Right now it’s the stock cooling fan but I have a future upgrade planned for that. I used both the high speed and low speed wires from the CCRM tied together as the power source to the PWM module.
