Are you a KORG-fan too, by any means? ;-} I can understand. And I HAD the 700 S (The Kitaro leadsynth btw...his baby!). Had the MS10/DELTA/POLY 800/MINIKORG/DDM 110. Why did I sell them??? Still have the O1W-fd/ X-50/ POLY 61/ Symphony/ KR-55/ Minipops/ 120 and Kaoss-things and stuff, so, there's still some 'magic' left! Once you go KORG, there's no way back.

You know, there's one Korg synth that I used to see in everyone's kit that I just don't see anywhere anymore. The Korg MS2000. It seems like that synth was really popular for a while and now, it's gone and no one is using it. It's kind of a gem, but I never see it any more in anyone's studios or gigs any more.
@moogish6 жыл бұрын
BlackburnBigdragon check out mr. tuna KZbin Chanel with his ms2000. It is very lovely & I was told the micro korg is the same engine with less knob per function. Idk for sure, so don’t be leave it myself lol. I’d rather have the ms2000 myself.

I used to have a Korg Monopoly - great Synth. Interestingly the keyboard assembly is the same as the Korg Poly 800 haves, which came out with a reverse colored keyboard edition. So i replaced the Monopoly keys with the reverse colored ones and made my own very unique Monopoly synthesizer! 😊

tuning issues make this ms10 sound amazing!
@mandel9577 жыл бұрын
catface I know right I'm thinking why the hell get it "in tune"... The tuning issues not only make it sound extra awesome but make the synth even more unique! A perfectly tuned ms20 sounds like another perfectly tuned ms20. The out of tune one sounds unique! Granted for his work where he may need it to play notes in a score exactly he probs doesn't want it out of tune lol but for dirty lead lines etc I would keep it as it is!

Hi Tom Great vid again , I super like the Triniton and Trinity of Korg ,but back then i did not buy it but i bought the Kawai k5000w , which was the same concept only even fatter , the told it was aditive synt, something like combinations samples with real of notes harmonics a real instrument also would have (love this sound, Native instruments did the aditive technology in there Absynt 5 vst)
@DonSolaris7 жыл бұрын
Tom, since you like reverb, you don't have to remove it from your videos. Just pad it -6dB. This trick can in fact make some reverbs larger. *That way both tribes will be satisfied (those to like and those who dislike reverbs). LOL!*

I'm wondering.. when you want to start a brand new track.. how do you choose which instruments will be part of the landscape? Only a fraction of your collection can be used.. so how do you choose? Do you ever use "roll the dice" techniques.. let randomness decide? (The Moog Sub 37 editor, for example, has a neat random patch feature which often comes up with really wicked sounds).

You've got tons of puppies in that facility of yours. How much TLC is required from one New Year to the next to keep the whole arsenal up and humming? What's the overhead? (I asked that question in the Roland workshop video.) Fascinating how a single-VCO model could be meatier than a dual-VCO model (referring to the MS models of course). Always wondered what the PS synthesizers sounded like, and it's awesome to catch them being played. Modular-meets-programmable-meets-fully polyphonic. Do you know if Alan Parsons had one of the 3300s during the I Robot sessions? Have you ever owned an ARP Odyssey? Yes or no, have you considered getting hold of a Korg clone? I would recommend getting the module, since you've got everything wired for MIDI via Kenton, anyhow. I often think about sending my Roland JX-8p to the KIWI dudes to have it repaired and modified.

@RoelCyborg7 жыл бұрын
guy you'll talk about reverb , but every VST comes with reverb also so everything is , and sound lush , i think when recording for a movie then have to switch this reverbs of and put one reverb on all (same one )in the mix down , I think a better question to Tom would be , iff a movie has a scene where vissual there would not be a reverb posible "would it then be better to mix down with something else then a reverb ,, to thikking up the sound , and which once would be good to replace it with ? Also lets say a scene is on grassland , would a lush sound fight with the aceptence or do you then need lets say a more bare sound ?
