I like how most of the film before this scene (especially in the directors cut) is incredibly dark and bleak and then you have this part which becomes very uplifting and a glimmer of hope and beauty amidst all the endless horror.

@@megamanxhunter No. They have been used for lots and lots of years. The Batman trilogy exhaustively (years before Man of Steel). You could even say they appeared in The Last Samurai, but that would be obvious. Gladiator, you name it. I bought the library around 2014. Also, they are not the same. On Man of Steel you have 12 drummers playing the same on a standard drum kit, while the other movies are more or less your standard Taiko drums with variations.
