Remember that the "Perfect Launch" doesn't deliver the best results for every car in the game, sometimes it works, sometimes it doesn't, with some cars you have to do an early shift for the first gear, because the game won't let you to do a Perfect one, it just jumps from early shift to over rev... 🙂 Drag Race number 4, in the game, if you want to give this a try. I did my best in these drag races, if you can accomplish a better time, let me know! 😉😂 All cars are tuned to the maximum performance using Junkman parts. ⚠ The "Performance Tuning" options are on Neutral. I think in Drag racing, acceleration is one of the most important thing to consider. So, a fully upgraded Porsche Carrera GT is an undisputed winner.

Yes, I'm agree! That's why in my old NFS UNDERGROUND 2 Drag Races I used the Nitro right after the race start, it was really hard to keep a perfect shift by doing that, but it definitely improved the car acceleration and the final result.

Thanks for the video. Interesting to see the difference in how the cars perform in a race vs a drag race. There was a video which showed all the cars with junkman parts performing around the same track. The test was done both tuned and untuned. Unsurprisingly, the m3 came first by a long shot. However, the golf and Elise did much better there. The Elise was even in top 3 as far as I can recall. Whereas the murcielago got smoked in that challenge.

The M3 is slower than the Carrera GT for sure. Carrera is always on top.

@@verttisyrjala2897 yes that is only in normal save files. However, in the modified save files where you can put junkman parts on an M3, it is still overall faster than the Carrera. Yes the Carrera might overall have a better acceleration but, it still is not as well rounded as the m3. I mean the m3 is the cover car so it is expected for it to be the best just like the r8 in carbon.

It depends on the tracks too. M3 is the best for faster tracks. But for most tracks, Elise is far better. There's no competition on tracks with slow corners. Elise just flies through them with ease.

For me, the most underrated car in this series is 911 Turbo S Why: 1. Has good handling 2. Fast ( high top speed and acceleration) 3. Does not have a problem with the first gear 4. Does not have a problem with grass 5. Strong againts cops 6. Not expensive

Also, you can notice how I improved the time in almost every new video until the tournament. 😁 I had so much fun trying to get better times with every car, being sometimes shocked by how the final results turned out! I want to do this Drag Race Tournament for NFS Carbon (even if it's an improvised Drag Race), NFS Underground 1 and 2, maybe I can do it for NFS Pro Street too, I'll definitely give it a try at least.

something very curious is that the gearbox when it is improved, the cars lose acceleration due to speed, every time they arrested me using the Supra, it was because the acceleration was crap, so if you want to lose speed due to acceleration, do not improve the box or if they improve it, that is not the biggest improvement, the game is Arcade so for having a clutch of 50 bucks and 2000 horsepower in the game, it will work perfectly

Man, great video! ... 17 years later and I was able to remember, that the best two cars for this tournament had to be the Carrera GT and the Murcielago. Maybe my favourite game of all time. Finished the career mode 8 times, one time with perfect junkman-tuned Carrera GT, one time with perfect junkman-tuned Murcielago. I also remember, that there werent Junkman-Parts for Nitro, right? Carrera GT had the best accelaration. Murcielago had the best top speed. For price-performance (including handling aspects), I liked the Porsche Cayman best. My must-haves for every career were No. 13 Supra, No. 10 Cayman, No. 6 Gallardo. Im really wondering about myself now... so little brain filled with so much retro-videogame-knowledge 😂

The Porsche Carrera GT is the best car in the game for sure. It's good at just about everything. The BMW M3 would edge it if it had longer nitrous though since it does handle like a dream on corners and is also a perfect all rounder. Top 3 list for best cars in the game is like this: 1. Porsche Carrera GT 2. BMW M3 GTR 3. Mercedes-Benz SLR McLaren

If you compare only drag, then yes, carrera wins. If you compare circuits \ sprint \ every other event where you have corners, BMW wins. Cop chase? Anything with FWD will perform much better than RWD.

this just came up on my recommended and being a huge fan of the game, obviously had to check it out. knowing full well that the golf is an absolute monster, i wasn’t surprised to see it go that far, but if i’m honest the murcielago really did shock me. considering it’s not a popular choice for players in the game, and definitely not anyone’s first pick, that’s crazy being 2nd fastest overall. also nice job on the vid, much appreciation from the fan base!

I knew the result from the start for most cars, like the Golf annihilating the competition and Murciélago and Carrera GT being top 2, beating even the legendary M3 GTR, only thing I did not expect was the GTO to perform so poorly. Heh, maybe I have way too many hours into this game. Quality content nonetheless.

One of the best things about this game is that how every car is evenly matched. The difference between the fastest car and slowest car is less than 1.8 seconds and out on the circuit, you could easily bring that difference down with skills. This also allowed us to finish the game with whichever cars we liked. And another thing, doesn't body kits affect the car's aerodynamics in this game? Like adding down force. It's possible that the cars were a bit slower in the drag race than they are due to the down force generated by the body kits. I don't know for sure since i haven't played the game for a while.

iirc body kits and spoiler affects the downforce of the car. Without them, you also cant adjust the car stats on the pause menu
