Ever since I was eight or nine, me and my mom would shop at an Asian market called Lotte plaza. While my mom would buy Vegetables, I would go to the little sushi booth at the far corner of the plaza. I visited there so much, that the sweet old sushi lady and the crew knew me as a friend. She was the best, almost like a grandma to me. She's knew me for years. One day, she and the whole crew vanished, and never returned. They used to play songs like this. It was magical. Now they have been replaced, along with the beautiful music, and I miss the sushi lady. I miss her so much.

you can give thanks to the vaporwave movement for that. People listening to vaporwave because it's the new popular thing( in the indie scene), then people find the source of the samples, and Plastic Love came into the scene. It's a semi-revival of the Western's love for Japanese city-pop.

RIP Junko Ohashi (April 26, 1950-November 9, 2023). Thank you for bringing this song back to mainstream and for new people discovering the magic of 70s/80s Bubble Era music from Japan AKA "City Pop", especially with the 2-LP "Magical" reissue. Then 2 years have passed by, the owner hasn't still reclaimed her phone so the bar owner decided to give the phone to my aunt, then she offered the phone to my mom then my mom gave it to me. While I was cleaning the phone. the photos were gone but the contacts and notes are still there. I opened the settings and i saw this japanese name. The name is "Junko". the best thing was that when i opened itunes, i saw this song too, and it's filled with all junko and famous japanese singers like miki and anri. idunno if they were related or whatever but im thanking her for introducing this type of music

nothing was ever good even before or after 9/11, we still had wars, we had rampant sexism, racism, xenophobia, homophobia, transphobia, we had corruption, we had poverty, etc. back then was not a sunshine and rainbows land. the landscape and aesthetic may sure have been but the society? not good.

The album cover is perfect. The song encapsulates the vibe perfectly and reminds of a time when life simple. The pre-9/11 days. So when I hear this song with those Twin Towers makes us think what life what have been if 9/11 never happened.

I had a girlfriend who absolutely loved this song, although we had our issues like anybody else (perhaps some a little more intense than most) we got along pretty good. Long story short, in the end I justified breaking up with her and letting her go because I felt I could no longer give her the happiness she deserved and thought she deserved better. She wanted to stay but I refused now I spend everyday running in to things that remind me of my time with her and I only ever remember the good. I miss her so dearly and hope that she is happy.
