We Built my AWD Turbo v6 S10 SikeClone to be better than a real legendary GMC Syclone for a fraction of the cost! We are getting this sucker dialed in and prepared to race the Iconic 1991 truck heads up! We've got a fresh junkyard engine in there and Tony Angelo and the Stay Tuned crew try to get the boost up, and the times down with a ton of fuel and transmission tuning! Does it suck!? Does it rip?!

No payoff at the end is sad but just blowing it up for clicks is even more sad. I'm always disappointed when KZbinrs ruin something just to get some content out. I hope all us armchair mechanics understand that sometimes you just don't get it figured out by the deadline but blowing it up again isn't a diagnostic procedure.

@@lpatierno84What year Lightning? Back when I was 18 or 19 I had a 1992 Acura Integra that I built the engine with forged internals and I built a junkyard turbo kit for it and had it professionally tuned. It made 452 whp at 25 psi and we would have race nights at our local food drive in joint where we would race down Rt 51 in Beaver, PA. My buddy had a 600 whp 95 Mustang with a Kenne Bell supercharged 347 that would stand up on the rear wheels. Him and I were always the fastest cars there, but we both kept getting our asses handed to us by a 2002 Lightning with a bunch of mods (including a five speed manual swap). He hated me because I was the import sellout, so he never told me what mods he had. I have wanted one of those ever since. I had a black and red 1993 Lightning with a 351W and a gray cloth interior. I miss that truck...

Great show! And I wanted to say, thanks for being such a good bunch, like a couple of episodes back whereby you brought a car for zip tie drags(?) fixed it, then sold it back to the original owner for the same money, after fixing it, that's very kind - kudos to you all. Incidentally for this build, is it worth getting it on EFI and mapped? As you will know, a boosted motor, especially running a lot of boost will always be vulnerable to melting a piston due to going lean at the top, so having it mapped might save you some more pain? Or at least decide a maximum boost figure and then take the carb setup and get that setup so you know its safe at max boost etc. Taking nothing away from what you've all done, it shows great ingenuity, skill and hard work. Well done!

I saw the Thermo quad shirt, that’s awesome. I build and sell those on eBay. There’s only a handful of us guys that actually mess with those things. I love them.

Sick build one of my favorites. Tuning boost with carburetors can be so frustrating. You will get it dialed in sure. Keep up the good work.

Just a thought, make sure you have a full or at least half full tank of gas. As a Syclone owner, if I have less than half a tank, it'll stumble on launch as all the fuel sloshes to the back of the tank. No idea if that is your problem here but sometimes it's the little things that cause the issues. I know I forget sometimes. lol Anyway, I'm really enjoying this build series, I cannot wait to see the end results.

Appreciate yall not breaking it just to hit an arbitrary deadline. That kind of silliness is below your channel - I think a lot of your audience like the deliberate approach, even if it takes little longer than the alternative.

Agreed, this is really important - I want ST for the content (interesting, funny, educational, inspiring), not necessarily having a perfect finished product at the end of each episode. There's definitely been a few rushed episodes where less rush to put out the perfect content would have meant less blowing up.

check in the bottom of the ultrasonic cleaner for that missing set screw, good chance it vibrated it loose.

My junk was way better off idle and revved harder after I locked out the distributor and then I did the retired trick with the advance canister. Now I run an electronic set up to control timing. Locking out the distributor helped a bunch. On my old setup. Had the stumble like yours before. And she liked all the fuel at top in on mine. Made boost fast.
