Junkyard Tour #2: 1989 Toyota Corolla (AE92) SR5 2DR w/ 341K miles!!

I was astonished when I found this car, as these are unbelievably RARE, especially in the areas I've lived in. Sure you can find 4DR Corollas all day long...but this screaming AE92 was truly a gem to find. Not to mention it was quite surprising to see the car with as many miles as it had and still in quite good shape for a car thats over 20 years old!

My brother owns a 1990 SR5 with 396000 miles and it still runs fine! It has been a really reliable little car.

That's a real gem right there. Corollas meant something back in the day, not saying don't today, love my new 2014 Corolla S, but the older ones are a real rare treat to see on the road. Btw love your junkyard tours, keep it up.

I just picked one up for 950 bucks canadian. clutch cable shot and suspension is super bad.. but the engine is running insanely well for 310km!! red interior too!

my uncle had one in red with gary he got it back in 90 brand new and over here in canada we got the japan corolla that sr5 over here in canada would have black bumpers not painted bumpers unless its a gts i know my uncle had his in black bumpers

Found a 1990 SR5 in a field they have the 4AFE not the 4AGE found in the GTS The body's and interior are similar between the two models but the GTS is the more performance orientated of the pair with the 4AGE being about 30ish HP more powerful stock with higher rev limits and stiffer suspension. Making the GTS closer to the famous hachi Roku.

James Harrington Pretty sad and I would say the condition is pretty good. Just clean up the interior, exterior, replace all of the missing parts and make sure the mechanical bits are up to the job.

haha 16 valve, theoretically is just a v4. the engine in the sr5 isnt that good. it was not "reserved" for the gts models. the gts (REAL AE92's) have the 4A-GE engines. the sr5 have a crappy 4A-F. sr5 is not that rare. gts is.
