Very nice, and great food as always. Helpful hint: We learned taking five 1 gallon jugs of water is much easier to transport and handier to use than one 5 gal jug. Glad the elk were there for you guys to enjoy!

5 jugs take up much more room and that's 5 jugs of water to spill 😂🤣

@@BubuH-cq6km I've yet to drop one or have it leak all over
@PRDreams3 жыл бұрын
@@BubuH-cq6km if you drop one 1 gallon jug, you still have 4 gallons. If you drop one 5 gallon jug, you get approx 3 oz if you go with what happened to the guys. It might take a bit more space, but they are easier to manage and the chances of you dropping all five at once, are slim. It is a good advice. When we hike (six people) the little ones get each a 1/2 gallon on their backpacks and the rest of us each a gallon. Even if one of us has a leak, we still have five gallons of water, which is enough for all of us.

1:20 seconds in and I’m already stoked!! I have 2 of that same cooking grill! Well HAD 2. I recently put together a comprehensive “Beginners Couple Camping” setup for my baby sister that’s getting married this Saturday. Sleeping bags, sleeping pads, tent, ladies, fire starting options, blades, power banks, and so on and one of those items was that cooking grill! SO exciting to see my camping heroes using the same gear.

speaking from ownership; that grill lasts a good long time (we've had ours about 3 years, but the steel mesh does warp. Take that to consideration as to whether that will be a big deal or not for you. Personal experience has found me to prefer a old refrigerator "grill" shelf (yes you have to burn it thoroughly before cooking on it. I have played with multiple posts to use, most effective thus far have been the 12" spike nails at an angle by tension or making your own "y-stakes". Hope this helps someone. Great videos, keep up the great work!

Love the "idea" of the SAK ranger series knives... I say "idea" as everyone has been sold out for some time now and now I have to convince myself to go along with the price jump. One of my edc's is the SAK Farmer I have had for years ($35 when I bought it). Only reason I have even considered the ranger is the extra size.

this reminds me of a bicycle trip i took once , my water bottle got a hole in it and i ended up in a very remote and dry place , the next day was the hottest day in recorded history in that area and i rode to get to civilization , by the time i got to the first town i could find they had to call the ambulance , i almost died of heat and dehydration . my cheap gallon water jug was rubbing on my wheel and that is how the hole developed .

Not sure those were shelters, the second maybe but i think someone was using them to "bank" reasonably dry wood for future use, to keep it off the ground and allow it to dry a bit faster. As far as mushrooms i recommend a good field guide, either one specific to your area or audubons guide to mushrooms: north america, i also recommend the youtuber Yellow Elanor, she has a great series on mushrooms 101 to learn all the specifics of what to look at on a mushroom so you can id them easier in books, some mushrooms that are easy for beginners are maitake, chicken of the woods, black trumpets, the giant puffball, chantrelles, (although those can sometimes be confused with the jack o lantern,) bearded tooth fungus and the tasty and much sought after morel. The last time i went camping someones pet rabbit that had obviously escaped from somewhere and was hanging around my campsite decided to chew a hole in my five gallon water jug, it was small enough though that some gorilla tape was able to fix it. Looks like you guys had a great spot!
