Get sober, my brother just died a few weeks ago @ 46 years old from alcoholism. He died alone bc of the alcoholism. We tried to get him to sober up but he just wouldn't do it. We used to camp so much in our youth, I'm planning a memorial camping trip to spread some of his ashes up in the mountains. Hope you can do what he couldn't.

Yeah that's sippin' whisky James, adding cola makes it too sweet, just enjoy straight cold😉 New Mexico boy here, haven't made it south to the Butte or Caballo yet, been hitting Santa Rosa, Ft. Sumner, Ute and Conchas...fishing still slow really. Won't be long though, I'll be heading up north to Cimarron to try the rivers. Great video, well done, thanks for the refreshing trip. This reminds me of the one and only time I visited Elephant Butte Lake. My father in law and mom set up a tent ⛺️ near the gravelly part of the shore. I was just in first grade, and it was one of the first vacations I remember. The most memorable part was going at night to the fisherman's wharf. It looked so big to me. People were fishing, at night, inside a big shack! There were road signs and old license plates and maybe a couple of neon signs on the wall, and a string of yellow/white Christmas lights strung up around the edges of the fishing hole. It was a unique experience for a little kid. Like a party at a time when I would usually be going to bed. I guess that's why I remember it so well.

It be nice to go camping every weekend. Ive only camped one time that was in san angelo about 15 years ago. Im 36 now and jus want to get away from the city, mainly non texans lol. I have a humongous tent that was given to me jus sitting there i have no idea how to set up a tent or break it down.

One way i suppose to test if the tent is leaking would be to just set it up, and hose it down with water that way you would be 100% sure you didnt bring the water with your gear

Try putting the seasonings on the steaks at home one day prior to leaving for camp, then place them in a ziplock bag for transportation. My favorite drink used to be Wild Turkey and 7up.

U wanna take it a step further....season them and throw them in a zip lock bag and add some orange juice...ur steak will literally melt in ur mouth.

I am wanting my first camping trip of the year too, but I'm thinking of Aguirre Springs. or Three Rivers. Caballo looks too barren, I want trees. Anyway, I'm more about hiking than fishing. Hum, but City of Rocks is nice too. I always do the cooking opposite; steak over the coals, and bacon in the skillet. But I suppose you didn't want to wait for the fire to burn down if you were hungry. I'll have to try bacon on the grill though.

I'd love to camp with you guys some day! What a great trip. You'll be jealous but I scored a brand new Army modular sleep system, the 4pc for $10 last weekend at a garage sale. Whoop whoop. I do have to say that Cuervo is a very good finger picker. Not many people can coordinate their fingers to pick a guitar like that. I must say you broke my heart when I saw you put those steaks in a skillet. Now I understand each to his own and everybody's got their own way and all those other words that mean the same thing but to have a nice tempered Grill right in front of you with a fire underneath I can't see no better way than to cook a steak that way but again like I said each to his own. Well I look forward to more of your videos and hope you can get more out. Y'all stay vigilant now you here.
