The Yamaha CK has a great interface, but the only good sounds are mainly the piano, EP, and organ. Almost all of the other sounds are low quality crap from 20 years ago. Many of the sounds are from old low/middle price keyboards like the Yamaha PSR-730 (1997) and I think the Yamaha MM6 (2006). The Yamaha CK allows 3 layers and has many effects, but you need all of that just to try and make it sound better. If you only want piano and organ then the CK is fine, but this keyboard is very disappointing and uninspiring for other sounds.

Thanks for the video MK, own the CK 61. If you need seq/Drums you have no choice but many of the 3800 sounds in the JUNO are similar and variations. Meat and potatoes sound with easy control goes to the CK. Piano on the DS isn't the greatest. Think of the CK as a poor mans YC61 although teh CK offers way more synth/pad sounds than the YC.

Thank you for your comment ☺👍 I feel that the CK can produce lead and pad sounds that my MONTAGEm6 cannot produce. I don't think the CK is high-fidelity, but I like it because it can produce a unique sound♪

Can you do a comparison on the Fantom-0 series vs the CK vs the ModX8+ series? I don't know which to get. I will most likely use a DAW, so I'm not sure the workstation is worth it. There's also the other series from Yamaha, like the CK vs the CP vs the YC. Just recommendations, love your playing haha

Thank you ♪ I currently have a CK61 and a FANTOM-06, so I can compare them. I'll consider it in the future. Since I started using Logic as my DAW, I haven't used the synth-type workstation functions much. What I want from a synth is that the sound and the feel of the keys are good as a standalone unit.🎹✨ By the way, I used to have a MODX6, but I sold it in half a year because the keyboard mechanism and connection terminals were not well made.

@@pf_masa so far, if you were to rate and pick between the CK, Juno-D, and Fantom, which would you pick? And what would be the ranking order? In my opinion CKs have better Acoustic and Orchestral stuff, but Roland has more sounds and a better synth. For some reason the CK sounded thinner / cheaper here than in your live set video, and the Roland sounds fuller but more stiff. Very conflicted right now haha

@@dtwo31 I own all of the CK, JUNO-D, and FANTOM-0 because I feel that each has its own merits. I understand your opinion. CK is suitable for expressing existing instruments such as piano, electric piano, and orchestra, and for warm synth sounds (Lead and Pad). CK creates its sound by processing the sound material with multiple effects, so the sound itself may feel thin. JUNO-D has many sounds, but it is good at producing straight sound quality and digital sounds, and it is difficult to produce a sound like CK. If you are looking for more expressive string sounds and music production with clip-based sequencers compared to JUNO-D, FANTOM-0 is a good choice, even though it is a little more expensive. --- The most important thing is to write down what you want from music performance. Then imagine where you will use it. Then verify whether the instruments you are comparing can achieve that. The answer to the common question "What is the best?" will vary from person to person. On the other hand, there is no instrument that can fulfill all your wishes. What is suitable for the task you consider most important? I think that the time when you are thinking about it is the most fun time ♪ I hope you find a wonderful instrument👍✨
