Awesome track, first heard it from Trip Through Sound Vol 1. I always wondered specifically where the opening vocal sample came from ("It's daylight, so you might wanna put your visors down") and just now heard it on t.v. watching a documentary on NASA and the mission to repair the Hubble Space Telescope. One of the astronauts says it as he's leaving the Shuttle to do an EVA to repair Hubble. Always nice to have those little questions answered. :)

I have to say, it's very difficult to pick between Bible of Dreams and Beyond the Infinite, for me the answer will probably differ depending on the day you ask me, lol. But I do feel like Bible of Dreams is the finalised and most polished iteration of 1990s JR concept and style.

The electronica from the 90s just will never be matched. I've been digging around for as much as I can find and still finding 91-93 material that was just way before its time. Amazing music that the modern cookie cutters will never get close to touching.

I write my own acid/psy trance nowadays. I'm proud of what I do, but I still struggle to get the the sound these guys had 25/30 years ago. And, not just that, but they were making it up as they went. I have people to copy. Hats off to all early acid, psy, trance artists. Thank you all for both simultaneously improving my student years and yet severely dropping my grades!

Andrew try more analogue sounds. Pure digital generated will never be as good as analogue. It is too sterile.
@andrewbates80763 жыл бұрын
@@monikadrnovscek8282 I appreciate your comment, but I essentially know how to make my sounds "Organic" and how to introduce analogue into it (not that I claim to be an expert). My comment was more about how they are fucking genius, and I am not :(

I like old sound, especially of 00s. Dnb, breakbeat, trance and so on. The main thing, that forget every producer after some time: good music is a good selection of sounds. No matter how you mix, how your compose and arrange the track (its matter, but in my opinion only on 10% of the result). The main thing is still selection of sounds. Try using old sample banks and I am quite sure, that you will see a good end result. I am having same problems and still working on that, but using mostly old banks and some of my "dirty" sounds realy works

Just watched the film First Man with Ryan Gosling playing Neil Armstrong. When he steps out the lunar module we can first hear some talking on the radio and then trembling music just like the start of this track. I was like didn't I hear something like this about 20 years ago? I think they ripped off JR on the soundtrack of that film.

why movie producers and movie makers pick this kind of music? although some people say it is trash and so on... because electronic music can provide those specific feelings and associations that no other music can... scifi genre, high energy scenes... all those require energetic soundtrack. either you pick some rock or you can go with electro. both is fine but I prefer electro. dreamy and full of energy.
