I love how she can have a really good electropop song and then when she does an acoustic, its like the song is stripped to its raw essence. The acoustic really touches your soul more
@kevinwilson4553 жыл бұрын
Just watched the 'Joshua Tree' electro and am now watching this. She really excels when stripped down.

there are people out there who say Lights uses too much auto tune, to which I can say "listen to her acoustics" because she is incredibly talented and I do go postal on anybody who says otherwise but I can work on that.
@jasonlong916010 жыл бұрын
you're right - i first listened to her acoustic videos because I didn't think she could sound like she does without autotune.. boy was I wrong haha
@gracievallee255110 жыл бұрын
in all honesty I first listened to the Cactus In The Valley acoustic because of Adam Young being in it but I think Lights is amazing either way
@eauxkei70210 жыл бұрын
She doesn't use autotune on her latest album, though...
@gracievallee255110 жыл бұрын
eaux kei well then that would explain why I didn't say anything about Little Machines, hm?
@eauxkei70210 жыл бұрын
Gracie Vallee If you're going to get bitchy about semantics, you didn't specify any album by name. You weren't clear on that, therefore my comment still stands.

I've followed her since Siberia dropped and instantly fell in love, I remember seeing the album cover in the old Windows Phone marketplace and decided to give it a listen. I was hooked. Seeing her journey and supporting her the entire way and growing together over the years has been a blessing. Skin and Earth is your latest masterpiece, which I love dearly. But I'm just now finding this video for the first time, watching it here in bed in the dark, and I teared up. I'm a 25 year old man with a beard and I cried, I fell in love all over again. It's been a long journey hasn't it Lights, but we're here. We're still kicking. You're so appreciated, and we love you dearly. Thank you for being the most fantastic little machine with the brightest soul.

Spoken like a true fan. I couldn’t have said it better. Her very very first album is the one I jumped on with February air and to see her grow from that on KZbin to watch she is now to walk into a Walmart and hear Giants playing over the speakers I am so excited I could scream just for the exposure for her. She is so incredibly talented and actually another artist that’s incredibly talented that gets shit for her autotune as well as Kesha. When you hear her do acoustics she writes her music I mean she’s life her voice is incredible autotune is merely a tool that people use for the genre doesn’t mean she can’t sing. Same with lights. When I met lights at a show she was the sweetest most genuine down to earth girl and she had rocket with her and they’re both just as adorable in person. She is a gracious talented woman and I’m incredibly blessed to have her music in my life. I did a painting of herAnd I gave it to her. I wish I had a copy of it now. I painted the skin and earth one of the comic covers. She loved it it was like Christmas for her she was so grateful. Again I say a very down to earth cool chick and I’ll support her every step of the way from here to eternity

For the people saying she uses too much autotune, what do you expect? Her genre is ELECTROPOP. It kinda comes with the genre. She's an extremely talented composer as well as has a magnificent voice.
@zombieedrea8 жыл бұрын
call me stupid, bit i don't notice that much autotune in her music. She uses it in The Listening and a few songs on Siberia but for the most part she doesn't, especially not in her live performances. Maybe I just don't hear it. Still, it's a dumb complaint.

[Verse 1] After having spent a fast year Waiting for the next time I can get you close I grew used to being back here Like a chorus synth line soldier at his post You call and I respond, the sparrow and the song I miss you when you're gone [Chorus 1] When I am alone, I see you in the dark I talk into the empty like you were with me Started on a cold night, felt you in the low light Noticing a reflex taking over me I see you and I reach, muscle memory [Verse 2] Again, off into the next fall I am on the back steps trying to let you in See you standing in the front hall Maybe this is madness underneath my skin Guess love is a response of the body it haunts And we do what it wants [Chorus 2] When I am alone, I see you in the dark I talk into the empty like you were with me Started on a cold night, felt you in the low light Noticing a reflex taking over me I see you and I reach, muscle memory I feel you endlessly, muscle memory [Bridge] When I feel the chains of a thousand words And I speak your name like I know you heard I can feel you there, I can hear you move And it moves me too When I'm playing games and I'm drinking wine And I see your glass sitting next to mine I can feel you there when you're not at home Like I'm not alone [Chorus 2] When I am alone, I see you in the dark I talk into the empty like you were with me Started on a cold night, felt you in the low light Noticing a reflex taking over me I see you and I reach, muscle memory I feel you endlessly, muscle memory
