I’m 40 years old now, and it’s been a 300 year storm since I was five! When will they update its age!?! When will it end?!?!?!?

I'm 60 years old damn near old as Jupiter, I remember that spot😮

How could you observe this in the 17th century what did they have a huge nasa telescope during those times
@PerceptivePlanet4 ай бұрын
Good point. Most of what we know about things like Jupiter’s Great Red Spot comes from modern technology, but early astronomers were able to spot it with smaller telescopes
@sidharthpatra47514 ай бұрын
The great red spot is visible with even smaller telescopes. It's so big that if any telescope can magnify the size of apple to your naked eye , u will be able to see great red spot

Jupiter’s atmosphere is mostly hydrogen and helium, but there is water vapor deeper in its atmosphere. However, it’s not quite like Earth’s water

It really is! The sheer scale and power of the Great Red Spot are mind-blowing-it’s a storm that could swallow Earth whole, and it’s been raging for hundreds of years. Space can be terrifying and fascinating at the same time!

The Great Red Spot is a massive storm that’s been raging for centuries. Its persistence and size are due to Jupiter’s atmosphere and the lack of a solid surface to dissipate the storm’s energy

It's crazy but we are completely surrounded by death. From the dangerous oceans depths here on earth, to lifeless space filled with planets with poisonous atmospheres. We are alone.

They had high powered telescopes to see that far in the 1700s? Yet it would take another 250 years to make a lightbulb or make a phone call. Anyone else smell bull SHIT???
@PerceptivePlanet4 ай бұрын
Back in the 1700s, they were able to spot some things like Jupiter’s Great Red Spot, but they didn’t have the technology to understand it deeply. The telescopes we have today are a whole different story
