Thank you for your interest in paraiba tourmaline and your great question, paraiba is a type of gem that has copper and magnesia in their chemical structure. Due to this chemical impurities the tourmaline has a unique color that is highly sought after. The most popular colours are bluish green or greenish blue, in bluish green the predominant color is green and in greenish blue the predominant color is blue.
