This is the complete video loop shown at the queue of the Jurassic Park River Adventure at Islands of Adventure in Orlando. "Jurassic Journal" represents the "official" Jurassic Park information network - promoting attractions, showcasing dinosaur facts and delivering background information on the history and structure of the park. "Carla Abrera" and "Michael Bowman" are the hosts of the fictitious tv show segments, even Dr. John Hammond welcomes guests in a short clip. (Actor Sir Richard Attenborough reprises his role of the park owner here.)
This video is an example for good "patchwork editing" to heighten the immersion in theme parks. It uses a variety of sources, from general stock footage and short scenes from the Jurassic Park movies to custom-made animations. Some scenes that were filmed especially for the queue loop of "Jurassic Park - The Ride" at Universal Hollywood were recycled, other segments were newly filmed at the Jurassic Park area of Islands of Adventure. All these elements together convey the illusion that the guest is visiting a "working" Jurassic Theme Park - also the video promotes attractions like the "Discovery Center" and "Camp Jurassic" that really exist in this area and can be experienced by the guests.
Theme park buffs may notice the Walt Disney reference at minute 2:35.
