"The 10 foot tall dinosaur had yellow skin with black spots and along the head can red v-shaped crests. Nedry stood his ground waiting to see if it was going to attack. It didn't. maybe the headlights frightened it and forced it to keep it's distance like a fire. he looked closely at the animal and saw its head snap and he felt something wet and sticky hit his chest and saw a glob of foam. He touched it curiously, not comprehending. Spit. The dinosaur had spit on him. 'That's creepy', he thought. Then he saw the head snap again and felt another wet smack against his neck just above the shirt collar. he wiped it away with his hands. 'Jesus, it's disgusting' nedry thought and the skin on his neck was already starting to tingle and burn. It was like he had been touched with acid. Then he went to the car door and glared at the creature to make sure it wasn't going to attack and felt a searing pain in his eyes stabbing like spines against the back of his skull. Spit. The dinosaur had spit in his eye. He shut his eyes and covered them as the spit trickled down both sides of his nose. he fell on his side as he was overwhelmed by the everlasting pain. The earth shook beneath him and nedry knew the dinosaur was getting close And despite the searing pain he forced his eyes open and still he saw nothing but flashing spots against black. Slowly but surely the realization came to him. he was blind. The foamy glob of spit blinded him. Nedry struggled to get up using the side of the car as a wave of nausea and dizziness swept over him. The dinosaur was close now, he could feel it getting close, but he couldn't see, he couldn't see anything and his terror was extreme. He stretched out his hands waving them wildly in the air to ward off the attack he knew was coming. And then there was a new searing pain, like a firey knife in his belly and nedry stumble reaching blind to touch the ragged edge of his shirt and then a thick slippery mass that was surprisingly warm. And with horror, he suddenly knew he was holding his own intestines in his hands. The dinosaur had torn him open his guts had fallen out. Nedry collapsed and fell on something scaly and cold, it was the animals foot. Then nedry a new pain on both sides of his head. The pain grew worse and as he was lifted from his feet, nedry knew the dinosaur had his head in it's Jaws. The horror of the realization was followed by a final wish, that it would all be ended soon." - Micheal Crichton, Jurassic park, 1990.

@TheOnePistol8 жыл бұрын
I've been reading the book and I was surprised to find that he was actually not as bad in the book as he was in the movie. He only intended to shut down the fences for about twenty minutes, long enough for him to get to the docks and deliver the embryos to the guy there. Then he was going to return and restore everything before anyone realized he was gone. But of course, like the movie, it didn't work out. Hammond was actually a real dick in the book. He was abusing his power and treating everyone like trash when things didn't go his way. Nedry just got sick of him and was also sick of being under payed for his work. That don't make what he did right, but it's easier to sympathize with the book version of him. He never intended on anyone getting hurt, he was just reckless. His death in the book was way more gruesome too.

Actually, in the book, it was supposed to be somewhere between 5 and 6 minutes. I don't condone what Nedry did, nor do I feel entirely bad about him dying, but Hammond was a douchebag who short-changed and blackmailed him, so Nedry being angry is understandable. What ruined his plan was the storm.

In the '70s and '80s Spielberg took some flak for the level of violence in his movies, and the controversies led to the creation of the PG-13 rating. I think it's why he ended up dialing it back in later films, which is why Jurassic Park is not quite as graphic as films like Jaws or the first two Indiana Jones films. (He did continue to use graphic violence in historical dramas like Schindler's List or Saving Private Ryan, but less so in his action-adventure flicks.)

John Santos The park was doomed to fail anyway. It was a good thing Nedry exposed that failure before the park opened to the public and more people died. A few examples of JP’s problems: The only thing between you and the eight ton predator is an electric fence rendered useless when the power goes out, insufficient containment for pack hunting predators with chimp intelligence, computer operated door locks, uncontrolled breeding, and dangerous invasive species reaching the main land. Nedry was greedy, but even if he hadn’t shut off the power the park still would have had a catastrophic failure somewhere.

Notice how Nedry says, "I thought you were one of your big brothers." Indicating that he knew there were bigger Dilophosaurus on the island. And not kid-friendly! I mean TV-MA!! I'll get some crap for this, but as popular and groundbreaking as Jurassic Park was, I don't think it's a great film. Compared to the novel, it's a bit lazy in my opinion. The raft scene, the cold opening, the part where Grant combats several raptors at the same time, and Hammond's complete different personality aren't even included! The movie is good, but no where near great! It's time for a faithful adaptation! True Grit and The Thing were remade to follow closer to the source material and it WORKED!! I love how well-acted this scene is. Nedry doesn’t have his glasses and so at first he thinks the Dilo is a raptor, and you can really hear his panic as it rears up a little (“Nice boy. NICE BOY!”). Then breathes a sigh of relief as he presumably gets a better look at it. They really took advantage of this Dino being practical instead of CGI in this scene, I’m not sure a nuance like that would have been possible if Wayne Knight had had to “act” alongside something he couldn’t see in the moment with the camera that close to both of them
@jackbluehq665322 күн бұрын
Also, the fact that this Dilophosaurus was likely just a baby or very young, which explains why it's primal hunting urges were slow and it acted more intrigued than aggressive Until he started to walk away, which probably activated its hunting instincs as now its "prey" was leaving. The book version of this scene was way more gruesome interms of pure gore. Especially cause Nedry in the book encounters a fully grown Dilophosaurus instead that splits his stomach open and picks him up by the sides of his head with its jaws. I think both versions are good, I like them both. The film for it portraying more on how a young primal animal would react in such a situation, and the book for how it portrays just how gruesome and horrifying encountering such an adult😮 creature would really be.
@jpstudios99175 жыл бұрын
This scene in the book was slightly more disturbing than this. When Nedry was blinded,we had no idea what was going on because we didn’t have a visual picture of the scene. Then,they said that Nedry felt a harsh stab in the stomach and so he felt his stomach,and it felt warm. Finally,it said that he was touching his own intestines. After that,Nedry was actually DECAPITATED by the dinosaur. That part in the book was brutal.
