Considering how articulately Nedry lays into Hammond during the argument, the fact that he would nervously stutter before grabbing a soda should’ve tipped them off that he was up to something.

Good scene. Helps us understand Nedry's character more and why he betrays InGen.
@pyromania10186 жыл бұрын
He's more of an asshole here. In the book, Hammond deliberately underpaid Nedry and blackmailed him into giving the system a complete overhaul when it was discovered to have several problems--and that was because Hammond kept Nedry in the dark about what the security system was for. Here, given the fact that Hammond apparently didn't cut as many corners as he did in the book, we get the implication that Nedry is just a greedy, arrogant asshole who gets paid just fine but was careless with his cash and is blaming Hammond for it.

Yes! I think a lot of people miss the point, Dennis may have gotten paid really well but had poor money management therefore he as indicated was in real serious financial trouble. It can't be Johns responsability is Dennis got himself in uncontrolled finance issues

Used to be an ongoing joke between me and an old workmate that whenever the one of us was talking about something that frustrated us the other would reply "Oh, your right John, you're absolutely right..." in Nedry's voice. Has us laughing every time.

At the end of the video you can really see how Muldoon expresses his concern over peoples safety around the dinosaurs. Since one of the workers died in the beginning , he seems to be all for exterminating the dinosaurs and is at odds with Hammond about it. Muldoon and the raptors truly became nemesis' to each other.

So much foreshadowing in one scene. Dennis foreshadows Lexi hacking into the system, John foreshadows his greatest mistake which he will later pay for, and Muldoon foreshadows the t-rex.

"I don't blame people for their mistakes, but I do ask that they pay for them" - possibly the greatest line of the last 30 years! I'm in IT, so I'd like to think that I understand both sides, but of course, I use it more often that I would hope, haha! Classic!

Well, Hammond is right. Mistakes are there for you to learn and grow. If you don't pay for those mistakes, then you will end up doing them again and again.

There is a reason Owen gives Blue the biggest rat. The second most powerful member of a group needs to be paid like they are the second most powerful thing in the park...at least if the book is also concerned. Nedry needed to be paid more or Hammond should have hired auxiliary staff that could do his job.

I actually wonder how much he was even getting paid. I mean I understand getting cash upfront $1.2 million is a lot of money but for the type of park they were about to open and the line of work he was in he should have been way over the six figure a year mark! Shit in 2020 alone $300,000 or above a year is considered pretty damn good!

Probably should have been best to humor Nedry and just give him a little extra money. Not that Hammond couldn't afford it. Even if Nedry' financial problems are his own doing, pissing off the one guy who can potentially destroy everything in the park is not a good idea.

I don't blame people for their mistakes, but I do ask that they pay for them. Dumbest line of the movie. Asking someone to pay for their mistakes, requires blaming them, for the mishap, of which payment is demanded..
