Everything JW does is iconic and recognizable and worthy of an Oscar. But Schindler's List was the truly stunning and emotional score that earned him the Oscar that same year. I’m not ashamed to admit that I still get emotional watching this scene, 29 years later. When dr. Grant turns his head toward the pack of parasaurolophus by the water and the two brachiosaurus crossing the lake, and John Williams’ incredible score rises to its crescendo, I get a lump in my throat. This movie was such a huge part of my childhood. 7 years old in 1993, I get a rush of nostalgia whenever I see a scene from Jurassic Park. But this scene in particular hits me different. 2:33 I remember as a kid seeing this, the helicopter descending with the waterfall in the background had EVERYONE in theater doing a big gasp, you could hear it even with John Williams crescendo. Haven't experienced anything like that in a movie since then

I’m a grown adult and I’m not ashamed to admit that this scene still brings a tear to my eye. The CGI is absolutely perfect and I love how the camera is pointed from the audience’ POV as it makes you feel like you’re actually there on the island. Stephen Spielberg and John Williams delivered a masterpiece. Jurassic Park will always be one of the greatest movies ever made!

I didn't get a chance to see this when it was playing in the movies and even when I saw this scene on my new big 31" HDTV I still thought, "Man, I should've seen this in the theater." Spielberg's magic at its best.

4:38: Sam Neill's ability to convey *that* level of astonishment while looking at nothing is some of the best on-screen facial acting I've ever had the pleasure of witnessing. Grant's wondrous shock in that moment matched Ellie's and the audiences' when we finally got to see that Brachiosaur. Not since Star Wars had I been *that* stunned by special effects. Sure, the CGI hasn't aged well in the last 30+ years, but the blend of piratical and computer-enhanced effects was so perfect that noticing the "bad" CGI is only a tiny nitpick anymore.

Fr tho, imagine being a parent in the 90's and you take your children to watch this dinosaur movie that has been getting a lot of attention in the cinema. You get there expecting it to just be some monster movie like Godzilla or something, but you end up being surprised by one of the greatest pieces of media in history. Man, I wish I could've seen this in cinemas. Absolutely love this entire franchise

1993 I was there in the theaters, an astonished 17-Year- Old witnessing this lightyear leap forward in SFX. Industrial Light and Magic stunned everybody with the CGI Liquid Terminator in 1991 but then, within the span of just 2 short years, they absolutely brought the house down using the same tech to create photo realistic, organic, moving-Dinosaurs. Since 1993 there has never been another SFX innovation that 🤯🤯🤯 everyone on quite the same scale.

Everyone who has seen this film has similar experience, the best time of their childhood, irrespective of the place where they have seen this film, the emotion this film brings even today is unparalleled because deep down we know that back then world was a better place to live in, just simple joys of life which is impossible to experience in today's times and that makes this film immortal. Perfect music, raw emotion and countless memories.

7:10 This was the first time I ever had to explain something to my dad, as he didn't get why Grant was so astonished by the fact the dinos lived in herds. As a kid who devoured hours of documentaries about dinosaurs, I knew that people like Robert Bakker (the real-life inspiration for Dr. Grant and the paleontological advisor on the movie) had been theorizing for years that herbivore dinosaurs, especially the largest ones, were social animals, not unlike modern-day elephants or buffalos. Grant is moved by the fact he\Bakker was right all along.

You know, Jurassic Park might have totally worked if the old man didn't create the T-Rex and the velociraptor. If he had just stuck with the herbivores like the brachiosaurus and the triceratops and limit what he created for safety reasons, they probably would have made a fortune with the place. He was just way too ambitious for his own good.
@ligregni6 ай бұрын
Probably would have worked out at the beginning, but later the investors would like more teeth, "cooler" creatures - like what happened in Jurassic World.
@talon36846 ай бұрын
@@ligregni Yeah, if humanity has anything to say about it, it definitely would have got out of hand over time. It's inevitable. Doesn't make for a good movie for me to be as logical as I am about it. There'd be no big action in the first film.

Thank you Mr. Spielberg and Mr. John Williams for such incredible experience and making our childhood so awesome. I saw this movie in India when I was 6. It was running riot here. My mum tells me that it was me after insisting, begging and crying for over 3 or 4 months, I could finally convince her to take me and my younger brother to watch this movie. She was later blown away and was in complete awe of this masterpiece. This movie and The Lost World, both movies generated mass hysteria here. I am sure it was same across the globe. Current Jurassic movies got better in VFX and stuff but still they could not recreate this kind of magic. Have very fond memories watching it as a kid. Priceless!
