I'm now convinced that the Jurassic park action figures were based off this show vs the movie.
@jayt10773 жыл бұрын
The first run of figures were based on early concepts of the film made before actors were actually cast. The reason they did this is because they knew the film would be a hit and they wanted to get started on merchandise as soon as they could.

I really like the animation style and some of the story concepts from this pitch but I can also see why this show would’ve gotten in the way of franchise development with the later movies. It sounds like a fantastic tv show though. Thank you for sharing this with us and I certainly think that this project helped set the stage for the current Netflix series Camp creatous.

_THANK YOU (😊)!_ I had read the ‘Jurassic Outpost’ article about this a while back; I too can’t help but feel it’s a *shame* this series never saw the light of day. It _definitely_ had potential (👍). Here’s hoping the *pitch trailer* for it gets publicly released one of these days (🤞). It’d allow us all to see a real glimpse of ‘what might’ve been.’

This is a far better idea than what we got in The Lost World imo. I like how this is a real direction continuation of the first movie which still carries many of the themes instead of it just turning into a theme park ride that the rest of the series became.
@Darkstar14843 жыл бұрын
Not to mention that some of the things that ended up being weirder or feeling out of place in later movies would have made a lot mroe sense here. Like the Indominus Rex or the idea of militarization of the dinosaurs (things that could have been done by BioSym or any other company)
@TylerRakstis3 жыл бұрын
It's kind of ironic how this draft sounds a bit like what Jurassic World Dominion is doing, Biosyn and Lewis Dodson are the main villains, and the dinosaurs now spreading uncontrollably in the mainland(Which was also something from the books)
@HemmasStudios_3 жыл бұрын
Completely agree. I always thought it was odd that the movies never circled back to BioSyn or Dodgson until seemingly now with Dominion. Even stranger is that they never circled back to Dinos on the mainland- I feel like that was always this type of story’s endgame.

Spielberg was already planning on Jurassic Park 2 while filming. You can see when Nedry dies, the camera holds way longer than needed to show what happened to the shaving can with the embryos. One of the earliest drafts was Jurassic Park 2 was going to happen almost immediately after Jurassic Park, meaning the embryos were still viable. The idea was more for it to be a a corporate espionage movie about Ingen vs. Biosyn. It sounds like it had some similar ideas to Escape from Jurassic Park

This is a nice story and all, but my favorite Jurassic Park sequel is Telltale's videogame. As a game is very poor, consisting on mostly glorified Quick Time Events and a few light puzzles, but the story is a phenomenal sequel that perfectly ties in to the first film without the need to double dip into the same characters (though one of the protagonists of the game is a supporting character in the first movie). Now we have Camp Cretaceous in Netflix, which is surprisingly good (I'd argue far better than either of the Jurassic World movies), so it's clear that a show based on Jurassic Park could have worked very well back then.

@@HemmasStudios_ here is how I would change this story if I had the chance to make this a show set in a alternate timeline. Tim is all grown up and is obsessed with rebuilding Jurassic Park on the mainland(specifically Orlando Florida), out of a misguided sense of nostalgia for the events of the first movie. Desiring to make this dream a reality, he recruits the OG cast(Alan Grant, Ellie Sattler, and Ian Malcom) to come to Isla Nublar to build a biological preserve and research facility, rescuing the struggling dinosaurs from going re-extinct. In truth, Tim sent Dodgson to Isla Nublar to get as much samples, dinosaurs, and data he can find. The operation was successful in getting Ned’s embryos but it came at such a high cost(90 percent of the team got killed) that Tim knew that he should never do that again. Reasoning that repurposing the original Jurassic park into a research facility would allow the dinosaurs to be easier to capture and take to the mainland. Dodgson uses the DNA within the dead embryos to create dinosaurs for the park in Orlando. The audiences are not aware of Tim’s treachery and are led to believe that Biosyn’s “OPERATION GENESIS” project is a separate project from Tim’s Jurassic preserve, as the Jurassic preserve clones more dinosaurs for future transport to Orlando. The twist being that Biosyn is co-financing Jurassic Park Orlando, having realized that corporate sabotage is useless when you just bail out your competitor and form close ties with them. This secret connection is hinted at while the audiences are given a red herring in the form of FAKE logos saying the name DinoWorld, while also being distracted by the cool dinosaur escapes. Eventually after the Trio and the DinoWranglers apprehend the dinosaurs, Ian notices that the dinosaurs are not being taken back to Isla Nublar but to Florida, piecing together Tim’s true plan. Tim tells the trio and his sister about his plans for building a better Jurassic park in Orlando, and that he won’t be deterred till he succeeds where his grandfather failed. Lewis Dodgson and Tim Hammond(denouncing his father’s name Murphy after his parents divorced) open Jurassic Park in Orlando as Alex attends the nursery, while Alex and the OG trio contemplate an uncertain future.
