As much as I love the original kenner toys, Mattel's new Amber Collection raptors definitely the new high-standard for Jurassic toys

Sweet raptors. The jp3 raptor toys were some of the the only jp3 toys that I thought were actually pretty good.

the jp3 raptor uses the same upper head sculpt as the brown jp raptor

Yep,btw It has same sculpt (maybe its repaint) as female jp3 raptor (black and white raptor)

I have to say first, your outdoor forest looks amazing, it really looks like The Lost World! But what a cool set you've shared. What's really cool, is that I had all three of these figures just not from the lines you showed. I had the TLW raptor instead of the original JP one, and man was that a classic figure. Had a lot of fun with that one growing up. I also had the screaming raptor but the re-release from like, the '99 line. It had the same scream, but a slightly different paint job, IIRC. And that JP3 raptor I had was made to look like the alpha female from the movie. She was like, white with black spots and crosses. Pretty cool. And yes, you're right, the action feature is kind of half-assed, you do just press the head and it's supposed to bite. Cool collection though, interesting to see these again from different lines.

Because of the way the body was sculpted on the JP3 one I thought it must have some action trigger built in somewhere but you're right, you just push the head forward. I don't know why they made the body so big on him.

Yeah he's really quite rotund! lol. I think JP3 was really where Hasbro started to kind of mail it in for the JP toys, sadly. Although I had great fun with the line as kid!
