Reaching speeds up to 70 mph and a max height of 155 feet, the Jurassic World VelociCoaster will be Florida’s fastest and tallest launch coaster when it opens next summer. The new attraction will feature a fierce pack of Velociraptors, as well as many innovative new coaster maneuvers.

I mean in terms of theming, this ride will blow away Iron Gwazi. But in terms of intensity and fun, both are probably neck and neck. In the end, all Floridians and tourists win!

Good call on an emblem - similar to the one on the Jurassic World ride in Hollywood, but without the words - going into that hole in the viewing area. I originally thought another planter or round seating area, but the area between it and the barriers is way too small for people to move around each other. That said, a bench area here would probably have grates around the base for rain drainage, so I haven't given up on that idea. I'm still having a hard time believing they aren't going to have some gotcha moment in this area. There's just too much excitement in the first two-thirds of the ride - launches, video, near misses, velociraptors, a top hat - for there too be so little in the last third. Are we really only getting some sort of splash zone? Yeah, there's the inside bit after this where Chris Pratt will probably show up and do a little "acting", but that's not exciting. That's just the epilogue, basically. To further my conspiracy that there's still something secretive going on here... In the one all-encompassing shot on your website I've found several suspicious things. 1) There are concrete foundations underwater, just to the right of the recently planted "jungle planter", that are not supporting bridge OR coaster. 2) These foundations were created at the same time as the ones for the coaster supports. 3) Why exactly would they remove land from this area just to add hidden foundations? 4) There has been a raft here, and workers doing things under the bridge, for quite some time. 5) These foundations appear to be in the exact center of the helix. 6) A perfectly suitable non-angled bypass bridge was torn down to build a new angled bypass bridge, a bridge that is clearly angling AROUND these new foundations. 7) What EXACTLY are those nets doing? In this same pic, you can see a net over the walkway to the "emblem hole" and another over the next section over the water. What are they protecting? The train will be on the inside of the helix here. These nets are not only on the outside of this helix, but they are angled in a way that will catch nothing. In fact, the one over the other track is angled in a way that will allow items to drop directly ONTO people in the trains. They are also tiny. They are what, 2 feet wide? That accomplishes NOTHING! Are they decoys? I keep wanting to give up on my Aviary idea, but every single thing I listed doesn't disprove that theory. That foundation could hold a rock pillar, like in JP 3, which could hide the center support for a dome, which would probably be made of netting and not some expensive metal. It could also hold an arm for a flying animal, allowing it to circle the aviary. How cool would it be to have a pterodactyl flying right next to your train? I have no concept of how they could pull this off, but it would be amazing if they could. Even so, just having the Aviary with a "hole" where the birds escaped would be a nice touch. Pipe dreams, I know, but I'm trying to make it happen!

Lol I actually thought about including her. She uses her track perch for hunting and eating fish in peace sometimes, but hasn’t tried to create any more nests. She has a new nest platform created just for her across the street that she likes more now it seems.

Universal did say new food was coming to the area... so maybe? They already have an outdoor bar called The Watering Hole, and they even already have some of the plastic tiki cups for some drinks there, so retheming that to Nu-Bar could be quick and easy. I haven't heard anything about that though.

Did you see the wrapped physical raptor figures closer to the end of the video? There’s also a couple animatronics rumored for the end of the ride, but we haven’t seen them yet.

I really hope it didn’t get cut, but the plans seemed to call for a moving raptor that runs along side the train at the very end and another that jumps out right in front of you to scare you at the last second before heading back to load. At least one of those would be animatronic, if not both-if they weren’t cut, or changed. 🤞

listen, I'm a Disney fan, and hopefully, I always will be. But I must confess it seems like universal is doing a better job with their theme parks, in general, more than Disney. I would say Disney is doing a good job with Disney sea, but they technically don't own that theme park! I feel like they are lacking in effort when dealing with their parks..

It's a toss-up, imo. Star Wars land twas an incredible undertaking, and looks amazing. A lot of their budget went to those lands, so that's why it feels like to me Universal is outdoing them when it comes to theming. But Shanghai and Hong Kong both got some amazing new land concepts being built, and the Epcot reimagining will be a nice upgrade, before they lay their next big plans post-pandemic.

At this time they are keeping the land Jurassic Park. Only the new coaster and the Raptor Encounter are Jurassic World.
