They have a whole international team producing their songs. I'm kinda quoting the documentary here, but just to give you a example, Simon Jakops (producer and the mind behind XG), back in 2019 (3 years before the debut) went to Atlanta and collaborated with a bunch of local producers and songwriters, majority black, to produce Shooting Star. None of them were familiar with Kpop/Jpop and were surprised by how he was writing songs for a girl group that doesn't even had a name yet. Simon is really proud of his team and it is special for him that everyone is from different nationalities.

Sienna has been with XG since their trainee days around 2020 and also our Xtraordinary Girls have been inspired by the lab for so long covering their dances since 2017. LEFT RIGHT was their most RnB heavy piece, they take inspiration from so many old school RnB and Hip-Hop artists such as TLC, Lauryn Hill, Erykah Badu, etc. If I were to recommend their best release so far it would either have to be SHOOTING STAR or PUPPET SHOW. But I’ll be honest with you XG has never missed and the amount of versatility they have when taking on other genres is absolutely unfathomable!!! Loved the reaction I hope you continue to enjoy your journey into XG!

Yes they constantly in interviews proclaim that TLC is an inspiration. And this video is sort of homage to that late 90's to 2000's era. It reminds me of Hype Williams videos of that time. I see aspects of TLC, Missy Elliott and Aaliyah in this video. As to what to watch next? You have a decent idea of their rap line. And you have a good example of they whole group. If you want a better idea of their damce capabilities. I suggest either Move 1 & all Move 2's Move 1 being a group routine and 2 being individual dance routines for each girl or since you've seen Left Right the dance practice fixed version will give you them dancing to a Sienna routine. If you want better idea of their vocals I suggest Vox 1 where Chisa and Juria take Peaches and make it their own with soul. Vox 5 is a decent choice because it features the whole vocal line but all the songs are just partials

Jurin is definitely a problem! She’s my ultimate bias but Harvey (the one with the high register you keep talking about) is a close 2nd for me. Although everyone in XG be bias wrecking me at times 😂 Vocal line: Chisa (main vocalist) Juria (lead vocalist) Hinata (sub vocalist) although these are their *roles*, any one of XG can be be a main vocalist. They’re that talented. Sienna has been with XG since pre-debut. If you watch XG’s documentary series, Sienna has been there before they even formed as a group. She has mother vibes and I’m sure she’ll tell you that as well.

Im in love with their visuals and sound. I havent been feeling strongly for music in the states. This reminds me of growing up in the 2000s, looks like y2k magazine ads and theyve got the y2k r&b girl group sound I miss so badly. But they still keep it fresh with their scifi looks that look like a lot of the couture fashion on insta that uses a lot of artistic CG. I love that they arent boxed in to one genre.
